SSV for Next Week!

I just got that old DVC urge (DH will never tell me I look pale again ) and decided to see if I could get something in the next couple of weeks. I had my doubts because I needed bargain basement airfare and wouldn't take a chance with a waitlist. Well, the stars lined up and Southwest and DVC both decided to cooperate! I have 4 nights in a studio at SSV and a great airfare, so I am outa here next Wednesday! WOOHOO!

When I called DVC I said any studio anywhere, and with a little finagling (just what do they do while we are on hold waiting with baited breath?) I got the 4 nights I wanted at SSV. This is the perfect opportunity to try out SSV and I could not be happier! I should have known I couldn't survive an entire winter without my DVC fix!

DSis decided to join me, so I called MS to see if there might be a 1 br available at SSV and there was!

I think it is wonderful that in some seasons even a very last minute DVC trip is still possible as long as people are flexible. I wanted to share this here because reading these boards would sometimes leave people to believe that if you can't plan 11 or 7 months ahead you will be shut out of DVC. I wouldn't expect this to work every time, but I have made several short notice trips (within 6 weeks or a month) at different times of year. It's still best to plan as far ahead as possible, but nice to know last minute trips can happen!

I called last week and got a studio at Saratoga Springs for the end of Feb. I had my choice of there or OKW, been there before.

Have a great time! You will be missing some serious cold weather up here. Although I live in MA, I am a professor in Concord, NH and winter has finally arrived! I'll think of you as I drive thru Nashua..and just dream for our next trip(HHI-August and OKW for xmas).
