My father had a heart attack a few years back.... I am not too concerned about him walking around the park.. since in the past we have done it in short walks. But while staying at SSR... it seems you could be far away from where to grab breakfast or cup of coffee...

Anyone know how I can make sure we are closer? I already sent an email to Disney.

Request the Springs section. It's closest to what you're looking for. Also, when you check in, remind them of your dad's heart condition and ask them, again, for a section closest to AP, etc. Good luck.

I would also request the Springs section.
Another thing to be aware about is that the check in, shops and restaurants are on the level of the top of the pool 'mountain' (where the white fences are on this picture).

The 'street level' is at the same level as the pool is on the picture. The path that goes from the villa rooms to the restaurant is not level, it does go up a gradual ramp.
Just FYI.
If they end up farther away, they can also take the bus from the stop closest to them to the front.

When making our reservations last year I metioned my disability and simply ask if they could put me in a room near an elevator. The CM noted it on the reservation and not only did they do that... they gave us "The Springs" section, which is close to the lobby/dining/pool/arcade and it has a bus stop right beside of it!

Yes, they do! I did not mean to imply they did not... I simply ask for our room to be situated near an elevator and was quite happy with our room location and our building.

No, I could see you were not, but when someone posts anything about an elevator, a logical next question that often comes up is "do all the buildings have elevators?"
So, I was just replying to the 'next question'
