Just finished changing our entire Feb trip to WDW.

We were originally staying at the Boardwalk, our fave place to stay. We have since invited my parents to come along for their first ever trip to WDW, Florida, and their first time flying on an airplane. They are elderly and don't get around as good so we decided to put them up with us in a 2-bdroom as opposed to actually getting them their own room or a lock-out. (boardwalk could not accommodate us for our travel dates).

So instead of staying at the Boardwalk we have reservations for Saratoga Springs. What is everyone's take on SSR ? I have asked for a room near the theme pool as we have a 10 and 7 yo and we don't want to walk too far to get to the pool. Any other suggestions, comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

SSR is wonderful. We have stayed there two times, both in Congress Park with a view of DTD. You can park near your villa and you have elevators in all the buildings. Rooms are very similar to BWV, BCV and VWL in size and style. Enjoy your trip.

Buses are very convenient and you can walk over or take a boat over to DTD.

Love SSR! Its very quiet for such a larger resort and there are many non-park things to do there.

You will want to ask for the Springs section to be close to the main pool.If you are going in early feb. I would think you have a pretty good chance of getting the building right across the street from the pool.We have stayed 4 times and have 3 trips booked for this yr.So we think its a great place to stay and only think it will get better as time goes on.SO ENJOY YOU TRIP!!!

I own at WLV and SSR - stayed SSR first time in December and love this resort. Request the springs section as kids of that age will love the main pool and slide and this is closest to the main pool.

Another vote for the Springs. Congress Park is also nice, but a longer walk. We stayed at the Paddocks last month and getting around was challenging. A car would be a great idea as the resort is huge! :) If you are at the Springs, you should be fine, though. Keep in mind that the Springs bus stop is the last one for trips to the parks. In February, I don't think you'll face too many crowds, though. The restaurant seems to be improving in terms of variety and the general store was well-stocked, although, of course, $$$$!! Discounts of 10% are given to members for lunches and dinner with proof of DVC membership.
