SSR - Updated photos - January 11, 2004

The LBV golf course does not come near the current SSR buildings (it can be seen behind the check-in area and across the roadway from buildings 5-12). If other buildings are added in a subsequent phase, they would likely replace the Fairway Villas that are still in place.

There will be total of 12 buildings and they are spaciously positioned around the lakes. BUildings 1-4 wll have a lake view towards the DD/I complex- #5-12 look like all will have lake views (not the same lake as #1-4).

#5-7 will be closest to the main pool area (right across the street) and others will be around 300-400 yards away.

From the look I got yesterday, it appears that all villas will have a small balcony- but the GV's seem to have only 1. You can see those in the photos taken from the DD side of the resort.

The photo on this thread is of the parking lot side of the resort and none of the rooms appear to look out in that direction.

Enjoy!

We only joined DVC in December and this morning I called and reserved a 2 bedroom at SSR inSeptember for 14 nights. There was no problem with availability and I have requested a view of Downtown Disney. I cannot wait to go there!

Thank you so much for the wonderful photos and info regarding SSR.

You are a star!!!

Thanks for posting those photos. It is tough to wait for the little bits and pieces of info to appear while we wait for SSR to open.

I'm really liking what I see of the grounds and buildings. They'll be nicer than I imagine.

I'm very interested in the pool. Can you give a sense of how large it is? How about the slide, the slide appears to be about as large as the one at the WL. Any ideas about how long it is?

Thanks again for these photos.

I guess I'd compare the pool and slide to the new pool at GF. It seems to be similar to the main WL pool, but it's tough for me to judge without water in the pool and the landscaping is not yet complete.

There is an entryway from the walkway and another down some steps from the front desk area. There is also a bus stop directly across the street from the pool.

Thanks for the info. I can imagine that it is hard to get a sense of how large it is until it is complete.

My daughter loves slides so I was hoping to get a sense of how long it was so I could get her even more excited about staying there.

I'm not too familiar with the GF slide so I'll go search for some pictures.

Thanks again!

Doc,

Thanks so much for the photos! Just the pick me up I needed this AM!

Wonderful pics...can't wait to be there myself.

At the Member Update today, they mentioned that the SSR slide will be 180' long. That sounds like a big one to me!!

Wow, 180'? Where are they hiding it all? It didn't appear to have any more length than the one in the WL. That is great news!

I get more excited about SSR the more I hear about it and the closer we get to the opening.

"It seems that one area of the green barricade was left wide open by the workers and provided convenient access to the entire area- much closer than prior photos."

Sure Doc, we believe you.
