Hubby and I are spending one night and were thinking of eating here. Any good bad reviews? Is it one dinning credit? How was the food. What is the best way to get here. Can you take the boat back to DTD?

We have only heard good things about it so we have booked it for May.:thumbsup2

It is 1 TS credit.:goodvibes

We stayed at SSR two years ago and ate there by chance. Since then, we make it a priority to visit. It is 1 TS, and has been very easy for us to get a ressie for the times we've wanted. Actually, its never been very crowded. You can sit outside on the patio, overlooking the golf course & water and you can see a good view of DTD...or you can sit inside if youd like, the inside is farely small and intimate.
I got the steak with crabmeat on top and it was WONDERFUL! My BF gets the pasta dish, something with artichoke hearts and she LOVESSSSSSSS it. She says its the best pasta dish shes ever had.

Yes, you can take the water taxi from DTD. Some recommend walking from DTD... but just be ware that it can be a lengthy walk. We just missed the boat one year and one of the captains suggested we walk...it took atleast 10-15 minutes..on a hot June night, Id rather take the boat!

Enjoy if you go!

We must have been there the only off night ever! I never read anything bad about Turf Club, so we decided to try it in December. The food was probably fine, but I couldn't even enjoy it since we the absolute worst waitress in the history of the world!

Non-attentive, forgot parts of our meal, never came back to check on us, forgot to bring us silverware set-ups after asking 2x - we finally had to take them from another empty table, no drink refills offered, and getting the check took like 20 minutes (and we were so mad by then). It was just one thing after another with her. It was the only time at Disney (in fact, maybe anywhere), where I felt seriously resentful about leaving a tip. And more so because we were using the TiW card with the tip already added to the bill.

We sucked it up and I can say it was one of the only really bad dining experiences we ever had at WDW.

We have never had a bad meal at Turf Club. I love the outdoor patio. To me, its the best kept secret as far as dining at WDW. Give it a try, and do take the boat. You can always walk back to DTD after dinner if you want.

This is our home resort and have eaten here many times. Never had a bad meal. I do recomend.

Sorry, to hear about that. I've only eaten there once, but it was really good and I had the best waiter. I was dining solo and was seated inside, but right up against the window, overlooking the patio, lake, and DTD. The calamari, steak with crab topping, and hot apple pie ala mode, along with the blackberry lemonade were absolutely wonderful. It was one of the best meals of my trip. It was so peaceful and quiet in there that night, it was a great break from the parks and noisy restaurants I had been in all week. Maybe, because I was solo, but the waiter just kept checking with me and never let my glass get below half full. He was great and so nice. The couple next to me had a little girl, who was maybe about 2 y/o and he just kept taking the time to play with her, but still had the time to give everyone excellent service.

Bad service can sometimes happen anywhere though. I know people on here rave about Spoodles, but I've eaten there twice and have had absolutely horrible service there both times.:confused3

We ate there twice on the same trip. We felt like hanging out at the resort one night and trying it out and we loved it! So, a few days later, we didn't feel like Tony's Town Square, we checked, they had an ADR and we went back. We had great meals! It was very relaxing and quiet. The kids were 10 and 8 - they loved it too. We have a diverse group of eater, vegetarians, gluten free and those who eat everything. We were all pleased!

Mmmmmmm! Love those onion rings with the three different dips.:lovestruc The steak was perfectly cooked and very tasty also.

Well, like I said, I think I'm the only one who's ever said anything bad about it ever!! LOL! It was definitely the service, not the food. And I'm sure we'll go back there -- first, SSR is our home resort so I think we'll be there a lot, and second, one time of bad service wouldn't turn me off anything forever.

It was just so disappointing because I was really looking forward to it (not to mention that we were staying at Beach Club that week after our DVC waitlist came through but went over to SSR JUST for that meal! At least we got to see the BLT models while we were there. :goodvibes
