Tobidisney-yes we bought DVC. After renting points and researching I felt it would be a good idea. The timing was right with the F&F promotion to allow me to lock in the $86/pt price and visit the resort for confirmation of enjoyment.

Friend of eeyore I did make the deposit w/o telling my wife. She doesn't like to spend $$ in big purchases- house, car, etc--never mind luxury expense like this one, it unnerves her a bit. I figured the experience would sell her. I figured once she agreed I told her about the deposit or quietly cancelled the contract.

I was in no way questioning whether or not she was involved or even approved of the situation. I just kept waiting for the Trip Report to have her reaction when you told her what you had done and that she could expect family vacations like this for the rest of her life!!!

From the reports to the pictures, it appears to me that EVERYONE had a great time!

She immediatley started adding up all sorts of costs and doing all kinds of financial gymnastics, all of which I had previously done, and ended up at the same result I did.

WE WILL HAVE MANY GREAT VACATIONS WITH EACH OTHER AND FAMILY.

Since we can't afford college now my daughter better like Disney. Just kidding hopefully the other investments have a better rate of return than DVC, lmao.

Ahhhh, but you just cannot quantify the rate of return on DVC memories!

I think you'll be happy overall with your investment.
