We have a treehouse villa reserved right now but an Old Key West 2BD Villa opened up. I would save almost 2K but something about the treehouse seems like a different experience to me. Any recommendations on what you think is better? There is 4 adults and 1 child (9). Thank you in advance for any advise given.

First of all, you might find the posts on page 1 of this thread about SSR helpful, then you can ask questions as well: https://www.disboards.com/threads/ssr-lovers-and-owners-part-4.3948180/

One difference that may or may not be significant to you is the bus transportation at the treehouses. The bus from the treehouses takes you to the Grandstand bus stop, and you transfer there to the regular SSR buses to the parks, DS, other SSR pools, etc. On the way back you transfer again. At OKW, your bus stop will be on the internal loop, so no transfer needed if you’re going to the parks.

I’ve always wanted to stay in the treehouses, but to me it would be for a visit that wasn’t heavy on parks. They’re kind of isolated, although in beautiful surroundings!

If it helps, we just switched from a split stay AKL/WL club level to SSR 1 bedroom villa to save $2K. I couldn't justify the cost even with 5 resort days planned. Took the $2K saved and gifted DH a bucket list gift for our 25th anniversary.

I just stayed at SSR. I was in the Springs area and the bus drivers a couple times said that you could transfer there for the Treehouses.

I would pick OKW. The 2 bedroom is super big. That bus transferring for Treehouse does not seem like fun. Its bad enough at SSR I was the 5th stop coming back at night! ugh!

I have not stayed at OKW in years but I liked it. Boat to DS, Olivia's, rent bikes or surrey, nice pool and as mentioned bus stop in each section.

Good luck with your decision. :earsgirl: :mickeyjum
