Hi Everyone,
We are getting ready for our first trip home as brand new DVC members and our getting so excited!!!
(29 days) :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My question is : I am starting to pack some snacks and anything that is easy to travel with for our stay. We are staying in a Studio and was wondering what kind of coffee maker is in the Studio? Do I need filters and coffee our do they use the all in one coffee packs that have the coffee already in the filter? Also, are there any utensil in the studio or are there just a few plastic and paper plates? How about a toaster is that in the room?
Any information that any one can provide to help me back would be very appricated.

Hi. There are no toasters in studios. The coffeemaker is a mr. coffee and you are started off with several filters and 2-3 coffee packets. They give you only plastic utensils and sturdy paper bowls and plates. Hope this helps. Have a great time which I know you will!

In the photos of the studios in SSR. And they are on the list.

No toaster ovens...Maybe that's what you were thinking.

Hi there KaylaKristen Welcome Home

About the toasters in studios, if you ask for one, they will be more than happy to give you one to use. Have a :jumping1: great time on your first trip home.

We've stayed twice at BCV and once at VWL, all times in studios. There was a toaster in the room all three times. Sorry, can't speak for SSR specifically.

Have a wonderful trip!

We stayed in a studio at SSr in May. (Our first time home)

If you have four in your group like we did, I would definately bring maybe a box of assorted plastic utensils, some paper bowls, for cereal, and some more paper plates.

And to answer to toaster question.....

We had one because I got to have warm pop-tarts every day.

Not sure what kind of coffee maker there is..... I think they gave you a couple filters and coffee packs. If you like a certain kind, I would purchase those little single serves (like at WAWA) ahead of time.

Oh one more thing...If you take showers twice a day... Bring a couple extra towels with you..... Our "morning towels" never were dry by the time we wanted to shower after the pool. And they don't give you extras if you have four people.

One DVC veteran who was staying there told us to just take towels from the pool each day.

(I'm pretty sure this was frowned on but I did get a "dry" towel for my hair. It's not like we were stealing them because we
did leave them in the room.

Guess we were spoiled by "regular" disney hotels that give you fresh towels each day and extra's....

OK spelling corrected....:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Paper bowels? I sure hope you mean paper "bowls"?????

If you take towels from the pool, maybe you could return them the next time you go down to swim. I'm wondering if they have some kind of inventory they need to meet. If they don't allow for towels being used at other places, they really should. I've seen people bringing hotel towels to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. They all look the same anyway.

yeah, I guess you could pay the extra.....

(Don't flame me here but.....)

when you've paid a few hundred dollars for the room already ....

The least they could do is give you at least two towels per person for the rooms max capacity.

(Considering you have to keep them for four days in the studio.)

I guess it's less of a problem in the 1bds and above because you have a dryer in your room.

The way SSR is layed out...I wasn't hauling clothes to the laundry for my vacation....

If you pay cash through CRO, you get daily maid services. If you are using points (either as a member or renting from a member), DVC rules apply.

This is called the "pay as you play" plan for DVC members. In order to keep dues down, they alloted a minimum amount of services. If you want more than that, you pay extra. This way only the members who want the extra services pay for them, rather than everyone paying higher dues.

We just stayed in a studio at SSR last month. We had a toaster and plastic utencils. However, we had REAL mugs, glasses, plates and bowls. We did bring extra filters, coffee, creamer, sugar, sweetner, etc.

Thank you everyone for your reply. The information you all provided will help.

One more question: Dish washing soap? and Paper towels? Do they have that in the Studios? or should I pack a small bottle of "Dawn" & a Roll of Paper Towels?

I am sure I will have a few more questions before our trip. The DIS Board is such a big help!::yes:: ::yes::

Yes there is dishwashing soap and papertowels.

Stayed in a studio at SSR two weeks ago. It had a toaster, microwave, Mr. Coffee coffeemaker, sugar, creamer, filters and coffee, paper towels, small bottle of dishsoap, refrigerator. Also included were paper plates, glasses, and mugs. One day we needed a paper plate only to discover that the plates were USED! Ewww! Someone had used the plates, wiped them off, and returned them to the cabinent.

Also, when we went swimming, we used towels from the pool and returned them the next day.
