So this will be our first time staying at Saratoga Springs. We have a standard room. Looking online, I guess that means it will be in either the Paddock, Grandstand, or Carousel area.
If I were to TRY and request anything ( and of course, I know it's "best effort" , no guarantees ). Where would be the most convenient/least hassle? I'm thinking bus locations, but also importantly getting to dining.
Obviously because it's "standard" rooms, they're nowhere near any of the resort restaurants. I'm thinking maybe the farthest east point of The Paddock ( like rooms 6500+ ) might be close to the Disney Springs walkway? But I'm not sure.
My wife has mobility issues, so in the past at other resorts ( if/when we didn't have groceries ), i'd run down to whatever resort restaurant and bring her back something for breakfast to get the day started. Not sure that will be feasible here.

what do you all think?

The Grandstand is the first stop for theme park buses and is very close to the Carriage House (check in and main dining area). Grandstand building 85 being the closest to the Carriage House and building 81 being the closest to the bus stop.

Paddock building 65 would be the closest to the walk way to Disney Springs, but further from the Carriage House than Grandstand 81 or 85.

We love Grandstand area as it is close to the Carriage House.

We will be going in January and are requesting Paddock, but I have heard that Grandstand also has its advantages

Am I correct in thinking that even in build 85 of the Grandstand, it's really a few minutes walk to the bus stop? I think I'd prefer being closer to the carriage house, but don't want to be *too* far away from the busses since we'd likely have a wheelchair with us.

Grandstand building 85 is pretty close to the Grandstand bus stop which is just to the left of the room numbers for building 81 on the map I posted earlier.

Since the Grandstand is the first stop, you probably want to be in that section with a wheelchair user since the Carriage House is the last stop and the bus will likely be full. It's not a far walk to CH from GS from my understanding.

Right, So staying in building 85 is not a big deal to get to the bus stop. Cool.

Thanks everyone!

We just returned from a our SSR trip and I requested Paddock area, upper floor, near pool. We were in the building just in front of the bridge across the pond on the 2nd floor. It was a PERFECT location. 2 seconds from the paddock pool which has food(breakfast/lunch/dinner)/bar, the Paddock bus stop 3 seconds away and the main food building a quick 5 minute walk.(we mobile ordered food in the room, clicked we are here and then walked over) Not sure I would want to stay anywhere else. As for Disney Springs we jumped on any bus...rode it to congress park then took the path through the woods that brings you right near the bridge over.

On the map above we were in the building right on the 5501. Here's the view from our room.
