SSR Rooms

Going to SSR in October 2010, staying in a one bed. Heard lots of discussion in regard to the distance between some of the rooms and the resort facilities. What are the best rooms to request in terms of location. We have two young children, love DTD and eat out quite a lot while on vacation. Any suggestions?

You would probably want to stay in the Springs or Grandstand. The Springs is right across from the main pool and restaurants and Grandstand has a fun pool for the kids that also have the soda dispenser if you buy the cups.

The Springs is definitely the best section to request with two little ones. We stayed there this past summer with our 5 & 7 yr olds. It was just across the street from the food, the main pool and bus stop. The ferry dock (to Downtown Disney) is right behind the restaurant. Perfect location!!
