SSR Room too Warm for Hot-blooded Family: fixable?

I know they call them Home Away from Home but seriously I think there has to be some compromise. We find the room to be very cool if we turn the unit down. I would be embarrassed to ask them to rewire it to make it colder and then complain when it was too cold.

I hope everyone does realize that going in and out to your balcony does affect the AC and if you leave your door open even a little will shut it off. So keep the balcony door closed at all times.

I agree that I would be a tad embarrassed if I had asked it to be cool and then it was TOO cold and I had to call again. But I would tip the maintenance guy, AND a room/villa/suite/whatnot is for SLEEPING primarily, yes? There are many of us that truly NEED it to be very cool in a room at night for health reasons, insomnia, etc. It is a well proven fact that the human body falls asleep quicker and stays asleep better if it's cool. Some folks need that more than others. :cutie:

It keeps running but does not cool. I did not mean the unit shuts off completely. We were told by maintenance that with the door open the unit does not cool to prevent condensation build up.

I'll check again over our next trips but that is not what we seemed to experience. It was warmer of course because of outside air coming in but the units were still cooling, not just blowing air.

I don't want to sleep in a hot room but 68 is very comfortable to us. Of course my mother wanted it cooler then wanted extra blankets. I was like, I don't think so, peel off the blankets Mom, if you are too warm.
