SSR Room Request

Hi! Looking forward to my first time staying at SSR for a quick 3 night resort stay with my husband and 7 year old daughter. We booked a preferred studio and plan to spend days by the pool and resort and dinners at Disney Springs.

What is the best room request? I think we want to stay in Congress Park for quick access to Disney Springs and a good room view but husband thinks we should request closer to the main pool and food in the Springs area. He thinks it may be too far a walk from Congress Park to pool and back if you forgot something or need to run back. Any suggestions? We will have a car.

Thanks in advance. We’re used to staying at YC and BC but excited to be able to go to Springs so often and easily.

I loved being in Springs in November. We were a quick walk from the main building, pool, stores, food, movies, etc. However, we had no intentions of walking to DS, so we requested Springs. I would definitely request your location based on where you feel it would benefit your family the most. Good luck deciding!

We stayed in Congress Park in Oct. It's an easy walk to Disney Springs. You do have to walk a bit farther to enter at the medical station but leaving to go back you can exit right by the bridge back to SSR. We are seniors and the walk was fine. The pool there is very nice as well.

Also keep in mind Saratoga has two "main pools." The other is at Paddock and is easily accessed from Congress Park.

I was in the Springs area in January. I don’t mind walking, but because of all the walking throughout the day, I ended up driving over to Congress Park to walk to DS. It worked well for me. You could also hop on a bus at Congress Park back to the Springs area after visiting DS, if you didn’t want to walk the extra bit back to the Springs.

Sounds like you will be either walking longer than you want for the pool, or walking longer than you want for DS. I say just request a Disney Springs view and leave a little surprise of which building you get.

Thanks everyone for the great advice! I do like a surprise! :). We just put our online check in request as NEAR POOL and CARRIAGE HOUSE. Are these the right online check in requests to be put in the Springs? I think we'd rather be in the Springs and by the pool and drive our car over to Congress Park and walk from there. We will ask our travel agent to put in a request for a good view. It doesn't have to be a Disney Springs View.

Thanks everyone.

Ok. I read your OP to say you wanted to be in Congress Park. I now realize that wasn't necessarily the case. Near Pool and Carriage House would likely get you in The Springs section. Just to be clear, the only Preferred rooms with DS view are at Congress Park. So if you decided on near the pool, then probably don't ask for a DS view.

Yeah, you absolutely won't be seeing DS from The Springs without x-ray specs. And you'll see plenty more with those!

Yes, thanks. We like a nice view, it doesn't have to be Disney Springs. We appreciate your help!

Yes, we appreciate your help. I was originally thinking Congress Park, but have been swayed to stay by the Springs for convenience to food and pool. We can always drive our car over to Congress Park and walk to Disney Springs if we like.

Here was my view from a Studio in the NW (left most) building in the Springs. (Sorry for the picture not being that great.)

If you want to request a view for the Springs section, I might go with water view. Not sure how that would work, though. A while back we could see water from our Springs room, but it wasn't spectacular...

That view is fine with us. We just don't like looking at parking lots or bus stops. :)

This is a fantastic view!!! :). We'd be super happy with that for our resort stay.

I don’t believe SSR has any parking lot views. Since there isn’t an internal corridor, the doors to the rooms are on the parking lot side, and then the views are opposite the parking lot.
