We just got back from a short trip there this past weekend.
I left things up to chance and we were put in the Paddock, but the first building right across form Congress Park. It wasn't too far of a walk to the main building/pool, plus we had our choice of using the Paddock bus stop or walking across the street to the Congress Park bus stop (we chose the CP bus stop). Same thing for use of the quiet pools, but we were really only there two days and chose to walk up and drive (our second day) up to the Springs area and parked across from the main pool.
However, the bus routes for DD do change at night. We decided our last night to go over to the Contemporary and Poly to look around, via the "unknown TTC' called DD bus stops. We drove up to the Springs area and waited at the Springs stop since my husband wanted to refill his mug. We got on at the Springs (with the bus coming up Broadway from CP), but then we went to Grandstand, Carousel, CP, and out the back gate to DD.
Oh and stupid me got two HUGE blisters on our first day. We walked over to DD (which wasn't far from our building either being across from CP) and I brought shoes that I had worn EVERY DAY when I worked retail (on my feet all the time). I passe dup cute, fashionable shoes for the practical "Wore these on my feet everyday shoes" and by the time we got to DTD, the puffiness was forming (we took the boat back to the resort). I found moelskin int he hotel gift shop, but alas no scissors and I had to do my cutting of the moleskin as the cashier, when I asked for scissors. I didn't know you were supposed to cut a hole out for the blister, so stupid me puts a strip of moleskin over the blister, and later after we went swimming, the moleskin came loose, and peeled away the blister puffy skin. My husband was like "Oh darn, you won;t be able to go to AK tomorrow." But sure as heck I did. I may have walked a little slower, but or daughter's stroller provided me with a reasonable excuse to walk slow (although I typically charge ppl down witht he stroller in the mall). Anyway, a week later and the blisters are healing nicely.
Aside from the size of the resort, I will likely stay here again though. I like it. Peaceful, quiet, and you don;t have to see another guest unless you really want to (aka pools/food court/bus stop).
