ssr reservation?

looking to book my first dvc reservation this morning at ssr and was looking to book from a sunday to saturday in august.my queston is it may turn into saturday to friday instead(i'll know in a couple of months)but i want to have something reserved so i get that week.am i better booking sunday to saturday and then if i have to cancel saturday on the end and add on to the beginning instead?and if i do that can i just cancel a day off the end and add on the beginning a day without canceling my whole reservation and starting over?
and what are the chances of adding on a saturday night stay in august in a 2 bedroom at ssr 2 months down the road?

p.s i don't have enough pts to reserve from saturday to saturday and then cancel whatever day i don't use.

Ask the Ms when you call, but if youre worried about shaving days off your trip, here's what I'd do: put the questionable day on a seperate but linked ressie.

Then, either book what you know you want now and only worry if you need to.

or

Borrow the extra nights points and when you cancel, tell them to shave off 2004 points (keeping the borrowed points on the ressie and then bank the extra 2004, so you come out even.

or

I'd book the early Saturday, then if things change and you cant get SSR later and have to switch resorts during your stay, you have stayed "home" first.
