Currently at SSR for a few nights, at check in we didn't get any of our requests. The room that we walked into at 6:00 had coffee in the pot and a messed up bed as if someone had used it. Nothing else was touched or out of order. The Bellman with our luggage was very embarrassed and remarked that every resort that he has worked at has housekeeping/room issues, he sees one or more per week.
A call to the front desk got us the call center who told us that we were in the correct room and that the room had been reported as ready. After insisting they transferred us to the front desk back room where we repeated our story. They gave us a different room and the Bellman took our luggage back to the cart and we headed to a different building. The new room was clean and in good repair, no signs of wear, some of the flatware was dirty in the drawer, into the dishwasher, we always wash all dishes that we use. The resort as a whole is in great shape, SSR deserves more respect, it's a very pretty resort, the internet is slow.
