Does anyone think SSR could become much more popular once the refurb is complete? By any chance does anyone know if the QS dining area is getting refurb also? I know food is not the best there.

The restaurants are not being refurbished. This is lodging units only. Restaurants are entirely separate.

When are the room renovations expected to be completed? What percentage of rooms or room categories are already completed?

They will be done in mid to late 2021. Congress Park is done. Springs is in progress. No Standard locations have been started.

Now that Disney is being sued by the contractor because Disney has not paid the contractor and the contractor found a fire hazard in the resort that has been there since it opened and Disney fired them. Then Disney hired another contractor to finish the job assuming the fire hazard is being addressed, god only knows when it will be completed.

I do! It will be one of only 3 DVC resorts with 2 real mattresses in a Studio (OKW, RVA), and one of only 2 with 2 real beds in a 1BR (RVA). As my kids get older, that’s going to be very important to us.

Also my personal opinion is that the rooms look really premium inside now, where they (IMO) looked very, very dated before.

This doesn’t seem to have changed the pace of the project.

I'm considering SSR resale for a number of reasons but space and bedding options are among the top of the list! Any speculation on if this will also impact resale prices? I know they are trending downward with some even getting in below $100 in the last month but I'm holding out for them to drop even lower. Thoughts?

I think any change in SSR prices relative to the other resorts will take a few years. If an increase in popularity eventually makes it harder to book at 7 months, that’s the real key for prices to rise. That won’t happen overnight.

There’s lots of conversation on the Purchasing DVC board about how resale prices in general will trend over the next 3, 6, and 12 months, with many (like me) in the camp that prices will eventually come down at most resorts due to the recession that we’ve begun, and others thinking that prices will be stickier than some think. So far the sticky price people are “winning” but I tend to think it’s early yet.
