SSR refillable mugs - silly comment

Ok, so this is an odd comment, but this is something that has bothered me. SSR seems to be the only WDW resort that does not have its own unique refillable mug. When we were there last April they were selling "Epcot" mugs. In December they were selling "Fall 2006" mugs. What really would it take for SSR to design their own mug picture? We have several mugs from other trips (POR and AKL) and I love having them - using them reminds me of our trips. A "Fall 2006" mug (which we did not purchase) really holds no souvenir value at all (IMHO). Even AS Sports has TWO different designs (both very cool!) for purchase.

I love SSR, and this might be nitpicky, but I wondered if anyone else has had the same thought? Do other resorts not have their own design?

Breaking the rules is one thing but admitting it on a message board is another.

I'm done flaming on the Dis but my advice is to zip up that suit because it is coming and rightfully so.

We have a few of the summer ones that we took as we use them for the stuff we buy at the grocery store while in our rooms. We went over to check if they had new ones yet and they were different but not something I would pay for just to have.

we also collect the mugs and use them here at home for everyday use. Our Oct trip we got a real nice POFQ added to our collection and hope to get at least 1 BCV one added in June.

I agree they need an SSR one but maybe they are going to the generic ones so they can switch them easier to stop people from bringing them back trip after trip.They could do that with just a year date on them as well as most people do just yearly trips.

It's not that the Nice CM gave it to you free . Thats a great gift or maybe a Magical moment. I think they were referring to the using it at SSR as "the Rule " is only length of stay at place of purchase.

I asked why the mugs were EPCOT ones when I stayed in December. The CMs said they ran out of SSR mugs and were waiting on the shipment of the new design. I think it's due in shortly.

The reason you weren't asked anything at SSR is because you were using the same mug.

What you did that was wrong is that you used the free mug obtained elsewhere to get free beverages at SSR during your stay.

Promise to not bring it back with you on the next visit and we'll call it even.

Don't get stressed out. It's just been a hot topic many times on the Dis. You obviously weren't trying to steal anything. And parents don't lie... I know because I am a parent.

Parents. Shocking sometimes. This reminds me of mine and how these mugs can bring out such hidden, awful, lack of conscience behaviours. Kills me.

We surprised our parents on trip in 2002. Anyway to make a long story short...

We bought them mugs at ASMu. I told them clearly, repeatedly explained how they worked: you can not use them anywhere at WDW except here. The very next day, they meet up with us, mugs attached to them. I figure okay they just had a drink on the way from ASMu. Nope. Not the case. They were on a mission. Whether they ever accomplished that honestly I forget. Had to explain again and again and again. And the problem was not brain power or Alzheimer's. We still laugh thinking of these seventy year old refusing to not travel with their mugs. I was so shocked. Never had seen this behaviour in my parents.

Your parents were wrong with the rules FloridaDVCgirl and maybe/probably knew it. As were my senior "it's my time in life to play non-intelligent" citizen parents whom I love very, very much.

Hey!!! I didn't mean to upset you if I did. I don't know anything about your parents. Your comment only reminded me of mine. There isn't a problem here at all. As others have said these mug talks have gone on for years. I assure that everything is okay. And I probably shouldn't have stated that they "maybe or probably" knew. As I truly know nothing about that for certain....obviously. You know them; I don't. This is what the disboards are like. Sometimes it is very friendly chat and sometimes there are certain topics that just set off "comments".

You asking your parents several times "if it was ok" says good things about you and we can all see that.

I think, guessing, that more people haven't asked for it is the size of the resort ie. to get to AP; therefore, I would assume that the "epcot" mugs there do not sell well. And then they hesitate to make them. But then again that doesn't make sense at all b/c POR is huge, OKW is huge, CSR, CB etc.....

I know many people have talked about not being able to use at pool area.

Geez I am thinking outloud. I have no idea why. Haven't cared b/c I rarely use them. What a help I've been. But it certainly doesn't make sense.
