I have a few questions. As you can see, we are leaving in a few days. We are staying in a studio at SSR. My parents are the DVC members and can't remember if there is a closet or place to hang clothes in a studio. Does anyone have pictures of a SSR Studio? Thanks

Unfortunately I don't have my pics here but yes there is a huge closet! It's bigger than the one at home!LOL

You'll enjoy your stay, at least we did!

It is so much better than staying in a regular room!

Don't forget to bring coffee and filters!

Thanks for the quick reply. This is our first stay at SSR. We stayed at OKW last time with the great military deal they had. Last trip was 6 people in a 2 bedroom villa. This time it will be 4 in a studio. They were concerned it would be crowded. It is my parents, me, and daughter (7). Don't plan on spending a ton of time in the room, but just don't want to be on top of each other. Should be great. Can't wait. :goodvibes

You'll be fine but personally I would put the sofa bed back each morning! It made a world of difference. It was just myself and DD12. With the sofa bed out, it made if feel like a regular room but put away it was like a suite!

Enjoy your stay!

Have a great time at Saratoga Springs!!! We loved it there! Be sure to stroll over to DTD to have dinner at Rainforest Cafe or somewhere.

Have fun!

We just got back from SSR. We had 4 people (me, DH, DS12 ,DD8) in a studio.
It was quite crowed. There was a closet, I didn't think it was big but it was fine. The space in the room was laid out poorly, so the living space was tight.
We had a good time, but I don't think we will be staying in SSR or a studio again.
Have a great trip :jumping4: :flower1:

Just got back last week from SSR!! Can't wait to go back!! Stayed in the studio...it was just beautiful, and much larger than I expected. Just two of us were there, but I would say choosing the studio would depend on how everyone gets along and also what kind of travellers you are. We are out at dawn and pass out at midnight...so studio is just all we would need for four of us. We are also veteran cruisers with 4 kids, try to cram 6 people in two cabins on a cruise...ha ha!! Anyway...point is ...if you hang around in your hotel room, then you may want to choose a larger room. But if you're out all day...and night!!...then the studio is the way to go. Save your points for another time!!

Just curious--how does your experiences at SSR differ from the other DVC resorts? I don't think I would put 4 people in a studio either. Heck, last time DW and I visited we splurged on a 1B just for the two of us.

But I'm wondering what makes the SSR studios different from the other properties.

TIA.

We are just back from 3 nights in a standard hotel room at All-Star Sports with 3 adults and 2 children (mother in law was an unexpected add on) and I am soooo looking forward to staying in a bigger place. And yes... I would consider a Studio at SSR a bigger place. We toured them right after staying at POP one night and I would say it would be great for us (children are 2 and 4).

If close quarters = extra days per year, then I am willing to use Dial as long as everyone else does. :flower1:

I would guess that most studios are about the same size. SSR is the only one we've stayed in. We had a two bedroom at VWL this summer(with another family of 4) there was plenty of room. In the past we usually stayed at deluxe resorts in disney I do think those rooms are bigger in living space then the studio. We stayed at a mod. once and it was small too, but our children were younger and didn't seem to take up as much space. Like I said I think we will have to use more points and get the 1 bedroom from now on. :jumping4: :cheer2:

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I think all of the DVCs, with the possible exception of OKW, are about the same. I know there are some slight variations in the layout of the rooms, such as locations of the doors. I've also heard people say that the furnishings at SSR may be a little bigger than other resorts, making for less room to move around.

The search function is down, so I can't find a post with the info on sq ft, but I think you're right about the deluxe vs. dvc comparison. If memory serves, the DVCs tend to be in the 340-350 neighborhood, while some of the deluxes go up to 370-ish. The deluxes do vary quite a bit from one to another, so it's hard to do an exact apples-to-apples comparison. I think there may even be one deluxe that's more in the 330 neighborhood.

Anyway, we're actually spending one night in a BCV studio in about 10 days (woo-hoo), so I'm curious to see how our family of 4 fits. I'm sure it will be fine for the one night, but for anything longer I'll happily spend the points on a 1B or 2B.

Thanks for the perspective.

We were in a 2 bed lock off at SSR for 2 weeks in September. There were 4 adults and one infant. We found that we had plenty of hangers even with 2 weeks worth of clothes and all the clothes purchasing we did! (We live in the UK and love the Premium Outlet Mall) We tend to hang 2 or 3 things on one hanger and it is fine. Housekeeping will bring you extra hangers if you need them. The closet in the 1 bed was rather small I felt. We folded a lot of stuff and put it in drawers. THe studio had a bigger closet I am sure.

It was our first stay in a DVC unit and we found it no hassle to do laundry. We came home with virtually no laundry to do. Next time we aim to bring far fewer clothes from home. In the summer months you dont need much variety. But of course, travelling this time of year you need to be prepared for all weather!
