Hi all can anyone tell me if the pools at SSR are heated in the evenings during the winter months?...also do they show the poolside movies at this time?

Hi willieboy

All WDW resort pools are heated year round (to 82 degrees).

It's one of the reasons why I am not keen on the pools in the summer (it's too much like getting into a warm bath) but probably good for the winter months.

As for the poolside movies, they are shown year round but I think are only 2 or 3 times a week.

It must just be me but we stayed at SSR last October and I was so disappointed with the pool temp.

It still felt cold to me - the girls loved it and never got out on our chill time by the pool. I would LOVE it to feel like a bath - now that is a heated pool to me! :lmao:

Janet, that is probably the difference between going in the summer and going in October. When we stayed at SSR one August, I got in the pool to cool down and immediately had to get out again as it was just like getting into the bath and it actually made me warmer. I suspect the outside (air) temperature has a lot to do with it and, obviously, the water will be warmer in the summer when the air temperature is higher.

Personally, I am one of those people who only get into the pool to cool down so it is absolutely no good for me. I tend to stick to sitting next to the pool with a cold drink instead

I hate pools that are too hot, that was one of my main gripes about Royal Pacific, pool water was far too warm.

OKW small pool is OK, I would prefer slightly cooler water but its better than some.
Reid posted the water in the main OKW pool was really cold yesterday.
Either they vary the temps or we all feel temps differently.

thought the films were shown up at the grandstand area?the quite pools are usually a bit cooler as there deeper than the main pool
