I have never stayed at ssr but we love vwl. Beautiful at christmas with all the decorations. And the boat ride to Mk is nice too.

We just got back from our first DVC trip and we stayed at both SSR and VWL. Both were great but I think we liked VWL a little more. They have different feels and I think that VWL has the more "Disney" feeling to it. By that I mean that it was beautifully themed and immersive. SSR felt like a really nice resort but wasn't immersive like VWL. But, we did like the pool at SSR slightly more than the one at VWL. The other really nice thing about VWL is that it has boats to the Magic Kingdom. They are not as fast as the buses to MK but they are a lot more fun.

I guess the decision really depends on what you expect from a resort. For us VWL edged out SSR. But only barely.

Don't get your hopes set on VWL if that is not your home resort. Those first weeks of December are very busy and the VWL is a quick sell-out due to the holiday season. Just wanted to give you a heads-up.

ABSOLUTELY...better jump on that 7th month window!! :thumbsup2

If I had my own transportation, I would chose SSR. I feel it is a great resort and very laid back. It is nice to park infront of your building and be close to off site restaurants. (they are not a crowded or expensive as on site)

At christmas time, the crowds at VWL/WL are just too much for me.

My vote would be for VWL. I love the theming and the fact that it feels more like a hotel stay.

Yes, the first two weeks of Dec is DVC's busiest time of year, but the waitlist might come through for you if you call first thing at 7 months out.

Good luck and have a wonderful trip!
