Hi All!
My fiance and I just returned from SSR on developer points. We stayed in the Grandstand Section in the building with villas 8101-8436 and loved every minute of it! We loved the pool, refilled our mugs at the pool and thought the walk to main building was super short and easy. My fiance wants to request that exact building in Grandstand again for our trip in September using the rest of our developer points but I have been trolling the SSR Lovers and Owners Thread and I'm getting the urge to request Congress Park DTD View. Some questions:
-Hows the Congress Park pool? Will we easily be able to get a chair during our afternoon break from the parks?
-Can we refill our mug anywhere at Congress Park?
-I know Grandstand is first on/first off for busses so thats great but hows the wait for Congress Park busses? Will we usually be able to get a seat?
And finally most importantly--
-What should we request? What would you?

Thanks!

We've stayed at SSR four times now and three of those have been in Congress park per our request. Once you stay there you'll know wny every one requests it.

Hi All!

The pool at Congress Park is simple and nothing fancy. Plenty of chairs to be had so not a worry.
-Can we refill our mug anywhere at Congress Park?
No, there's no place that I know of at the Congress Park pool to refill mugs.

The wait for buses isn't too bad. Although you're the middle pick up for most of the routes. We have never had to wait more then 20 minutes, give or take, for a bus.
-And finally most importantly--What should we request? What would you?
If you ask to stay in Congress Park ask for any room in the center building. That puts you facing the pool and the DTD view is through the trees. We like to stay on the 1st floor in that building and just use the sliding glass doors to come and go to the pool, grill, play ground, etc. We love it!!!

Thank you! :thumbsup2

We returned last Wednesday from SSR, staying in the same Grandstand building you were in. We really loved the location, super easy to the bus stop and the pool, and the walk to the main area was much shorter than I was expecting! DH really wants to try Congress Park next time, though. It would be really great to be so close to DTD, and it still doesn't look like too far to the main area. Guess the only way to know is to give it a try!

I have stayed at Congress Park twice and the Grandstand twice. I like the Grandstand a little better for the fun "quiet" pool, drink station and proximity to the main buildings. I also really liked the DTD view over at Congress Park. I would probably suggest Congress Park for you just to try something different.

You can't beat this view at SSR:

My simple response would be grandstand if you have small kids..............Congress park if you are an older group and are going to use DTD more often. That's how it's worked for us thus far.

We check into a 1BR @ SSR in exactly 19 days!!!:banana::banana:
I too am debating and scouring threads for the best location and have heard positive reviews from nearly all areas. We have 2 boys (11 & 7) and were thinking of Congress Park. Now I don't know which to request, but I'm certain whichever we do get will be wonderful!!
