We requested the grandstand area on our trip December 15-22 is it a quick walk to the main pool area? Should we request the springs instead? Will it be warm enough to swim?

Thanks !!!:)

I was under the impression that Grandstand would have its own themed pool.

Snap - including dates!! We looked at Grandstand the other week and when we realised how close it was to the main pool, Artist Point, first bus stop, we realised that it was the area we wanted to be in. The new pool is fun DS 8&5 loved the starting gates and horse sprinklers and the walkway over to the the main pool is pleasant and short.

I'm also interested if its warm enough to swim in December. If so, see you poolside :goodvibes

Swimming at WDW in Dec. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. The weather can be so variable Dec through mid Feb. We were there in early Dec and it was mostly (mid 60s) but on the Friday, we had a cooler and windy day on the golf course. A few years ago, we went in early Dec and had decidedly cooler weather (mid 50s). Of course, when my brothers and I were young, a 55 degree day was still good swimmin'.

Yes. It's the closest section to the Springs. The two buildings open now are on the Springs side. The remaining buildings are scheduled to open later this year.

Grandstand has its own pool as well with hot tubs and a water play area.

As far as the weather being warm, it's a crap shoot but I wouldn't count on it. When I was there last December (3-15) I froze and constantly bundled up in sweaters and long pants. One day was so frigid I had to break out my winter jacket. But the pools are heated and I always saw people in them. They were quite funny running back to their rooms turning blue all the way. :)

This is the most recent map.

Grandstand has a leisure pool, splash pad area, spa/hot tub, has an area for a future food service/bar area?, change rooms and BBQ area with tables

Very nice red and white themeing and very safe fencing all around to help keep an eye on the kids

Great area for kids and adults

We requested Grandstand for our next stay - it is a lovely area of the resort especially if you have kids that love splashpads

We check in Sunday into 2 2 BR villas...We have requested both be in the Grandstand....keeping our fingers crossed but are just glad to leave this cold New England weather and go home to SSR!!!!

We requested Grandstand for our stay that starts this Saturday! Hope we get it!

We have a split stay coming up the end of July/August. The first week we requested Congress Park, thought it would be neat to have the closest walk to DTD. After we return from our weekend at Universal we have requested to be in the Grandstand. It just seemed like the best of both worlds to me.

We will definitely ask for the Grandstand on our next trip. My girls loved the new themed pool. We were there is past March and practically had the pool to ourselves.

Great picture - captures the essence of the grandstand

The addition of this feature elevated our opinion of SSR to almost as good as BCV (we own at both BTW)

Cheers
