We arrived at SSR yesterday. We got a studio in Congress Park in the section closest to DTD. We have a nice view of DTD. No problems at all with the room. I do have a question - are the foldout beds usually made up with linens or do you have to make them yourselves. I thought in the past, when you folded out the bed, it already had linens on it. DD29 slept on it last night and we had to make it up first. No big deal, but I just thought in past visits it was already made up.

Also, she said it was very, very uncomfortable. I know it's a sofa bed so what do you expect, but she has slept on them in the past and didn't remember it being so uncomfortable. Now she does have back problems, so that could be part of it. I told her I'd try it tonight (I can pretty much sleep anywhere).

Our fold outs at Disney have always been made up with the exception of the blanket. It was in the closet with the pillows. Also, my 2 teen boys, both over 6' tall, find the bed very comfortable. I wonder if you have one of the older beds with that horrible bar across the middle?

We're back at SSR in November and have requested Congress Park, DTD view. Can you hear the noise from DTD?

Seems like we've usually had to make up the sofa bed at SSR. DD says that they are very comfortable. I've never slept there, just joined her for a bit to watch television but it always seemed like it would be pretty comfortable to me. Although DD can sleep just about anywhere!

Yep, we have the bar bed. We didn't hear any noise at all from DTD last night. It is pretty seeing the big balloon go up.

Previously, our studio sofa beds at AKV and VWL were already made up...but it was not at SSR when we stayed there. I had read that Mousekeeping does not make them up at SSR for some reason so I checked it & made it up as one of the first things I did when we got to our villa. I think that is one of the oddities between resorts that you would think would be a standard to do or not do.:confused3

Annie after you posted your experience, and our June trip in which we stayed at AKV, BCV and VWL, in which all the sofa beds were made with the exception of the blanket, I reported to customer satisfaction team, that the bed being made should be consistent across DVC. AKV has the same beds as SSR and they were made, so maybe we have just been letting SSR slide.

Wolfpack, SSR has the foam padded sofa sleepers. There should not be any bar. Are your cushions velcro'd to the base?

As for the noise, Congress Park was specifically built to minimize the noise from DTD. There used to be nightly fireworks at midnight, and all the windows and sliders are double paned. You wont hear noise from DTD unless you are sitting on your balcony or at the pool. Our first few times staying there, I kept missing the fireworks because I thought I would hear them. They were gone in a blink and I never heard a thing. The NYE and 4th of July fireworks were loud and long and we could hear the boom in those!

Not made up ahead when we stayed there in May. I think it would be a waste to make up the bed and then wash the linens if they weren't used.

THis way mousekeeping knows if they were used.

When we were in a 2BR the sofabed was made up. My adult DS always sleeps on it and prefers it. It was one of the fold outs, not a bar. :thumbsup2
