Hi everyone -

I'm a newbie so this might be a dumb question. I am assuming that it is faster to get to MK from SSR by taking the bus than by taking the bus to EPCOT and then the monorail to MK, right?

TIA!

Yes. We stayed in SSR this Jan. I found that taking bus to MK is around 20 mins.
I tried driving a car and park at TTC, and then take boat to MK, which almost double the travel time.

We stayed at the Paddocks for a week. No problem with buses at all if you are going to parks.

Except we rented a car for 4 days - mainly for going to outlets, and dining at various resorts (e.g. WL, Poly, AKL etc).

It depends. If you get to the bus stop, only to find out that the MK bus jsut left, then it's going to be at least 20 minutes before the next one. On our last trip, we were waiting at the bus stop for a little while when an Epcot bus came. DH asked, should we take that, then take monorail to MK? I wasn't sure. Then right behind it another Epcot bus came - so we hopped on that one - Epcot is much closer to SSR, so it didn't take long to get there. Plus the kids(and I) love riding the monorail, so we had a nice relaxing ride on the monorail to MK on our last day.

We stayed at SSR in August and had no trouble with buses. We asked to be put in the Grandstand section so we were the first stop getting on and off the bus. Springs is the last stop and sometimes those folks didn't make it on the bus in the morning. If they did get on they usually had to stand. Just something to consider when choosing room location, but we were there during a busy time. Also, I didn't find the ride to MK that long...I think it would be too much hassle to go over to Epcot and take the monarail.

We were just at SSR 3 weeks ago and had no problem what-so-ever with the buses. If we just missed the MK one, it seemed that there was one right behind it (saw two in a row quite a few times for all the parks). We had an early morning breakfast at AK (8:00 am, park opened at 9:00) and we had no problem getting there on time, in fact we arrived at quarter to eight!

We stayed at SSR last month and were thrilled with the bus service. Both to and from the parks. :thumbsup2

Have a great trip!!
