Will I be able to use my SSR developer points to book THV when they go on sale?

SSR members have a small window to book first, then you can within the 7 month window. SSR members can book Feb 8th, I think they get a two window

Just confirming - you can use your developer points for THV, but you have to wait for February 22, 2009 (the first day non-owners can book THV) or the 7 month window for your dates, whichever is later.

This is from the DVC Member Website:

New Disney Vacation Club Resort bookings begin Feb. 8

Disney Vacation Club has announced that Member Services soon will begin booking reservations for two new additions to the neighborhood.

Members with ownership interests in Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort may begin making reservations for their new home resort on Feb. 8. On that same date, Members with ownership interests at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort may begin making reservations for the resort's new Treehouse Villas accommodations.

All Disney Vacation Club Members may book reservations for Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort and the Treehouse Villas accommodations at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa beginning on Feb. 22.

Construction of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort remains ahead of schedule, putting the new Disney Vacation Club Resort on pace for an estimated opening on Aug. 4.

even if you are an SSR owner?

Larry,

YES - even if you are a SSR owner the Developer's Points are only good for a 7 month window

I've already tried making a 8 month reservation using DPs and I am a SSR owner---MS said NO!

Along with developer points as previous stated, you also will not be able to use any other points you have from other properties to make your reservation. So in other words, if you own 50 points at SSR, that is all you'll be able to use on the 8th, you won't be able to use points on other properties along with your 50 points.

This could be a problem for people that have a small contract at SSR.

When it comes to booking during the ownership booking window, either this short one for THV and BLT or the usual 11-month window, it's not about where you own it's about the points you use to make the reservation. Only home resort points can be used in the ownership booking window.

It's not enough to be an owner at SSR, you have to have enough SSR points to make the reservation. If you happen to own at other resorts as well, you can't use BCV points or OKW points or any other points, only SSR points will be accepted. Developer points are not SSR points so they will not be accepted within the ownership booking window.

And in fact, you don't even have to be an owner. You could have SSR points transferred to your account and use those to book THV on Sunday. It's about the points, not about being an owner.
