SSR Convert !!!!

How long does it take to walk from Congress Park to the Turf Club?
We walk a lot and if the kids aren't with us, we walk at a pretty good pace, I would say about 10 inutes. We walked back from the pool (on the other side of the Turf Club) with the kids and it took about 20.

Thanks to the OP for your report! I'm staying at SSR for the first time in just a couple of days! I have been a bit bummed to be staying there because of the distance to the parks and a host of negative things I've read about SSR. I've only visited the resort, never stayed there, so I appreciate your perspective.
Guess I have less to be concerned about than I thought. :thumbsup2

I did put in a request to stay at the Springs section because as a solo female traveler, I'm concerned about walking around alone late at night. Hope this was the right decision as your view sounds amazing.

Is this a typo or have I missed something?
Busch Gardens is 1 Hr 15 Min from SSR, rather than 3 and 1/2 hours from home! We've all been to Disney 40 plus times so we don't mind skipping Disney World! In November we'll try Harry Potter @ Universal!

As a single parent, thats one of the reasons I bought into DVC rather than a timeshare in Orlando, I felt it was a safe place to vacation w/ my young son. and I've never regretted that decison. Now I travel more with 5 or 6 but I still would walk alone or with my son at night in DDT and or OKW, & SSR. Of course, 10 yrs later, DS(13) is now 6 foot and I'm the munchkin.

I think it's always good to be aware of your surroundings but I honestly have never felt afraid at OKW and or any other resort. I don't think you'll be disapointed about the Springs!

Honestly we love all areas of SSR, certainly Congress Park is high on the list, then Springs, Grandstand and with the new pool Paddocks is going to be right up there.

SSR is my home resort and my favorite. Glad you enjoyed your stay. The Rose and Thorn idea is great.:thumbsup2

I am really glad that you posted your experience. This is the first time that we have been unsuccessful at the 7 month mark. If we weren't booking 2 rooms I would have stayed on the waitlist for BCV's, but I didn't want to take the chance that we were at one resort and my in-laws were at another. This will be our first time staying at SSR since we bought in, in 2004. Our kids absolutely love the SAB so we tried for BCV's. We requested the Grandstand. I think my kids will be perfectly happy there. I am excited because we love DTD and I love the thought that we will be able to walk.
