SSR Cond Meeting Update???

Did anyone attend the SSR meeting Nov. 29? What did they say? Did I already miss the discussion?

I don't know if anyone replied in another thread so I apologize in advance if they do.

Nothing great to report.

Only thing that might be of interest and I am sure they will be at all the other resorts too is that they are upgrading linens to 250 thread count bedding, thicker towels, H2O spa stuff (still have the old faithful Mickey shampoo and soap) but the new products, DVD's in all studios (except BWV because of some other replacements at this time).

That is all I remember. They showed 2 clips of upcoming movies, told about the member cruise from 06 a bit. Talked about the new booking arrangements for member cruise 07 how they received some negative feedback but still feel its the way to go.

Talked about the giclee and how they had lots of concernes if it was coming out of our dues and said it wasn't.

I asked Jim Lewis after the meeting about the member cruise, why we had to pay in full at the time of booking and commented on my situation that we would be home the day of the booking for first timers and it would be hard to drop 4G's for the cruise right after spending 4G's in the world, along with Xmas and such.

The GM Rick came over to me and said it was something they were working on, getting a system for billing so that we wouldn't have to pay at the time of booking. Never gave a timeline, just something they are "working on" - take it how you want to.

That was basically it. Nothing really fantastic, no huge annoucements or anything.

Thanks for the report - we just got back and I had intended to attend either SSR or OKW since we won't be there for our home resorts meeting (BWV).

Anyway, it didn't work out so am glad to have the report! Yours is the first I've seen so far -guess it's going to take me a while to catch up with everything, especially since it's taking so long to post. My typing has deteriorated (no DIS at the World forme) and it's taking forever to fix all the typos. I think some are getting by anyway, LOL.

they also formally announced AKL DVC, and mentioned that several other things were on the drawing boards, and permits applied for, but had not gotten them yet, so there would be no announcements on that, just in case they didn't get built.

Also, a motion was voted upon and passed, that overpayments of estimated dues would go into the capital outlay fund, rather than be applied toward future dues. The fund is for replacement of furniture, roofs, painting, and so forth. There was something about that money not being listed on the following year's statement, but I didn't quite get that.

They showed new DVC items for sale, too, and they gave us ink pens for coming.

Sounds like more fuel to the CRV and DL-DVC rumors to me..

Were the finer thread sheets/linens announced for all resorts or just SSR?

The linens are for all the resorts, not just SSR. Also, the armoires are in the process of being cut down at OKW now for the DVD players--I think they are taking out a drawer for them--and all resorts should have them by Jan 2008.

It is too bad we will lose drawer space at OKW in the studios, since there isn't any shelf space on the sides like there is in some of the other resorts.

That would be a huge benefit for us as well. I really hope they do come through on that one for members.
