Does anyone know what the current activity offerings are at the SSR community hall? We will be there starting Oct 9th. Last year at BLT we were able to pin trade, color pictures and make buttons, paint figures etc.

I think this would be useful information for all resorts or for anyone to plan future trips. Maybe someone can compile information. I would help when I am at SSR next month.

Also... Does anyone know if I could participate in other resort's Community Halls, event though we're only at SSR?

Thanks!

yes you can participate in other's community hall - they do change the schedule but when you arrive you should get an activities list - if you don't just ask at the front desk

SSR has movies, foosball, pool table, XBOX, Wiis as well as arts and crafts (buttons - nominal fee, ceramics - based on figure size, flower arranging $35 I think). I have not, however, seen any pin trading such as you would see at DTD or the kiosks. As SpiceyCat said, get the schedule when you check in for specific details.

My DD 12 liked the SSR Community Hall but AKV remains her favorite.

Have fun!

When we were there in February they were doing a campfire and giving the kids a stick with marshmallows for a small roast.

The check in desk at SSR is where I've seen CM's bring out a pin board for you to do pin trading.

DGS and we enjoyed the SSR Community room, we played ping pong there!:goodvibes

really like the ch at SSR - it is really 2 separate rooms - one for the noisey things and another one for the craft things.

since I love the craft things - SSR is really nice.

I'm ashamed to admit I've never even been in the CH. The crafts pique my interest. Is that kid-centric or can adults make things, too?

Hey, MsSharkBait, I get there on the 9th, too. See you at check in.;)

They have some all ages or adult things at various times. I've seen things like flower arranging on the schedule.

I just wanted to throw in this thread that SSR has THE BEST CM at a Community Hall that I've ever met. She knew my kiddos by name. One time she sang a song to two little girls in the most beautiful voice; it was truly an enchanting moment. For the life of me her name escapes me at the moment, but I think she said she used to also be a part of the Ft. Wilderness show. Anyway, keep an eye out, she's really wonderful and made the CH experience very special.

ETA: CM's name is Sunny!

Look forward to seeing you in the community hall! I have a child, but I would do the crafts without one. Last year at BLT I made a Rapunzel and Flynn Rider button (the 2" circle type). You pick your characters out of a book, color them, and then they press the button for you. It's $1.

you pick out what you want - then paint it.

there are sometimes kids - but the kids generally do the little stuff - butterfly and the plastic stuff (much cheaper).

most of the time I am not the only adult painting. some of the stuff takes a long time to do.

really enjoy it. calms me down.
