SSR building?

We just booked our first trip home to SSR for 9/27-10/5, in a 1br! YEAH!

I would love to get a building with a view of DTD. Which area is that, Congress Park? Is there a better location? I would guess that the higher floors have better views?

We stayed in Congress Park last May on the third floor. Awsome view.

I went back to look at my trip report and it says room 2301, so I guess it was the second floor. But it sure seemed like we walked up two flights of stairs. Anywho....

Higher is not necessarily better. I was in the last building, sorry not sure what # it was, and the path to DTD was right there. We were on the ground floor and still had a great view.

We prefer the higher floors so we have the balcony rather than a patio to sit out on and enjoy the view. So that might be a consideration for you.

From our trip in November (we were on the 2nd floor):

On our last day we saw three hot air balloons going over DTD

This was our view from our June trip (again on the 2nd floor): Not much of a view though.

We always request a top floor location as we were nearly robbed one time at a hotel and I'm somewhat paranoid.

This was our view last June from the top floor of The Springs building 3500-3800. It was a great location!!

We abolutely love SSR...its so relaxing...so much to do....and the villas are so quiet. Its our favorite DVC resort

Ok you have to explain the nearly robbed comment? I don't understand how you get "nearly" robbed

We were on a ground floor location about 4 years ago at a NON Disney hotel..as we were coming in our door to our room...someone was going out the patio door...it was locked when we left...they managed to get into it. A few items were missing...but it could have been much worse...we scared them off by returning at an odd time was my guess.

This is why I will not stay on the ground floor anywhere at any hotel. Just my own personal preferance.
