We are staying at SSR for 5 nights in August on developer points we got for buying an add on at BLT.

We have never been there and were wondering if there was a specific building to request to be closer to the food. Since this will be our DVC stay, I don't even know if we can put in a request for a certain building. We will be in a studio.

My family and I are booked for late Sept at SSR... to my knowledge and based on research, the best place to stay at SSR is the Springs section. That area is closest to the main pool and to the Artists Palette...
Hope this helps..

We stayed at SSR in the Springs section in January. We loved it, it is the closest to Artist's Palette. Springs is also the last stop on the bus route which we also liked. You can make a request for which section you prefer. We requested the Springs and were fortunate enough to get assigned to that area. We also requested the Springs this coming up May. Hope you enjoy your trip.

Do I just call MS and ask them to put that information down on my reservation? I don't have the confirmation information yet since it takes about 3 weeks (I was told) for developer points ressies (they do them by hand). Should I wait until then? Its still almost 6 months away so I don't think I am in any rush.

Getting the morning coffee before heading out to the parks is a must for me. We are doing QSDP and will have the mugs so the closer I can be the better!

"The Springs" is definitely the closest to the main area/food/pool, etc. Call up Member Services and they'll put in a request. They say it's not guaranteed, but if you call this far out, you'll probably get it.

Another thing to consider is maybe looking into Congress Park? Our family always stays there because it's closest to the walk to DTD. It's a nice area with a quiet pool and a little play area for kids, too.

Yes, you will have to wait until you have your confirmation # before you can call. We just called last week to request the Springs for May, so I think you will have plenty of time. Just call MS and ask if they will note it on the reservation. We gave our top two choices, 1-Springs, 2- Congress Park (CP is across from DTD).
