SSR - Best Location - Congress Park or Grandstand?

This will be our 1st trip as DVC members and after seieng some wonderful pics on here of the DTD view, we requested CP DTD view. However the Grandstand also looks beautiful, but I wondered how the location compares to CP?

We'd like to be nearish the main building to get refillable drinks easily but also be able to walk over DTD and see that wonderful view as well?

Any recommendations?

The GS quiet pool has its own pool bar and mug station, but you could be put in 1 of the bldgs that is closer to the main entrance, so that may or may not suit you.

Congress Park is our favorite section. I love the views and the quiet pool views and the close walk to DTD Marketplace.

The GS section will be equally as close to the boat dock (closer if you are in the pool view bldgs) and you can always take the golf course path to DTD's Westside.

We always stay in Congress Park, and we spend alot of time at Community Hall and the main pool and AP. Its about a 5-7 min walk and rare times we'll catch the bus to the Springs if we catch it, if not, no biggie.

They have the GS movies a couple times a week, but I did hear there were some noise complaints from guests, so they may move it.

I would give them both a try and see which one you like.

The bad news is, you could request either and get neither and end up somewhere else so it's best to keep your expectations bridled.

we were in bldg 8400 (I think) next to pool and bus stop. Very convenient. Also, we heard movie noise, but not bad and it was over by 10:30 PM--and we were on 1st floor right be the movies. It was great, right by the bus stop and kids could walk out patio door to the pool--it was great. Very short walk over to Main bldg and Springs pool.

We've stayed in both and love both. We like CP when we have teenagers or young adults for the quick walk to DTD. The GS was great when we had our 6 yr old niece, she loved the pool.
