SSR and the Paddock Area

We are planning a large family trip to SSR in Nov. We have a 1 and a 2 Bdrm villa reserved. Our group includes 7 adults and 4 kids ages 2-7. (myself, dh, dd, dsil, dsil's parents, dsil's brother, our 5 yo dgs, our 2 1/2 yo.dgd, dsil's nephew 7yo and niece 4yo.) We thought that the kids would really enjoy the Paddock pool area. Our 3 yo dgs loved it when we were there in Oct 2011. It was a walk from Congress Park though. We have always requested Congress Park in the past. Has anyone stayed in the Paddock location? Has anyone had a poolview? We are also planning to grill on this vacation so being close to that area would be convenient. Any suggestions ? TIA

My sister, twin 6yo dtgs, and I stayed this past Jan. We were next to the pool area. Loved it! I was there for the marathon, the weather was in the 80's so they spent a few days by the pool.

We stayed at the Paddock a few months ago in one of the buildings next to the pool. We lovec it. We had a view of one of the ponds, a little too close to the road for my taste. I sit out on the balcony alot and the road noise messed with my desire for peace and quiet. Only a little, though. When checking in, see if you can request one of them that either faces the pool or faces the Springs area/ water. The water playground will be enjoyed by the little ones. Alcohol and food selections were limited but they had some so that was nice.

My kids, ages 7, ,9, 11 loved the Paddock. It was also a nice short walk to the High Rock Pool. The walk from DTD took about 20+ minutes. You could stay in some Paoddock buildings that are closer to Congress, but then they are farther away from the Paddock Pool.

We stayed in The Paddock and loved the location. I would not hesitate to request that area.

Had we not stuck with the THV, I was going to request the Paddock area.

We loved the Paddock area before the pool refurbishment. The walk across the bridge to the Springs was always nice, the bus stop is close.

Now, Im sure it must be the most popular area to request. I know I am!

Thanks for the info, I have requested the buildings on both sides of the pool. I also requested pool view. We'll see what happens. We had originally wanted to stay at BLT but I have heard through these boards that the Sat. night shows no availibility for a 2bdrm in any view. Too risky to try to get 2 rooms I think. We do love SSR so we are happy to stay there.

We stayed in the Paddock before the pool Reno and really enjoyed it. We didn't think the walk to DTD was bad or the walk to the Springs area.
