Can anyone advise the name of the individual of the CEO that handles DVC and how to make contact--send an email/suggestion?

Basically, we are new members to SSR DVC---SSR is the LARGEST DVC Resort, it makes perfect sense to connect the monorail to this resort, it's the best location (in my opinion) and we NEED the monorail out there---help me out fellow SSR DVC Members---would this not be SO AWESOME!!!!!!! Think about it DTD is a GREAT place---plenty of privacy and nightlife, depending on what you want---it would be too cool---- :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Frankly, I've never seen the place and I am SO EXCITED about our first trip home! I LOVE THE LOCATION-THEME, ETC.!

That's why we (DH and I) ADORE WDW---there is SOMETHING THERE FOR EVERYBODY!!!! :cheer2:

It roughly costs $20 million per mile of track to put a monorail in according to what I heard last. Imagine - membership dues of $100 per point! I don't think this will happen anytime soon.

Check out this thread that I started back in January

SSR monorail easement?

It answered alot of questions about a monorail easement and rehashed reasons why the monorail will not go to SSR. :sad2:

Can you imagine the cost of a monorail to SSR? Right now it's MILES away. And where would they put it? Across the water or across the golf course--hmmm, not a good choice. Then if they get the monorail to SSR, all the people staying at the off-property resorts will drive to DTD, park their cars, and ride the monorail FREE to wherever they want to go, and their cars will prevent the rest of us from shopping at DTD, which will put all the stores out of business. :confused3

No need to imagine, here's some costs:

Realistically, why would they put a monorail in to SSR? It's already selling, and they are getting all the money they can from it. Wouldn't it be more feasible to put in transportation to link the AK or location with several cash resorts instead of linking a timesare that is allready selling out for the next 45+ years?

Sorry, just don't see it happenning. I know that there is an easement on the property from some of the WDW original planning, and they should keep those, but the costs are too prohibative, without any real advantage or $$$ making opportunity.

I'd love to see th emonirail expanded, SSR is probably one of the more unlikely places that it would ever happen.

The 4-mile monorail project in Las Vegas reportedly cost over $800 million to construct.

While Downtown Disney could represent a viable monorail destination, it's far more likely that the Animal Kingdom and MGM (along with their nearby resorts) would be linked first. Until that happens DD/SSR isn't even worth consideration.
