SSR Advice

Hi, I just changed our reservation from OKW to SSR for our upcoming trip. I am in need of "request" advice.

The resort is HUGE and I do not know where to begin... I changed our reservation for 2 reasons...1 - the pool/splash areas, and 2 - walk to DTD. We will have a car this trip too.

We are in a 1 bdrm villa, I have 2 kids 5 and 3. We will only be spending 1 day at the MK and the rest of the days will be at the pool...dtd, mini golf etc.

Which area will put us withing a reasonable walk to DTD and near the main (fun) pool?

If you want to walk to Downtown Disney, you should request a room in Congress Park, and a room number between 1100 and 1500.

However, I think you're better off in The Springs which is closer to the lobby, pool, and boat dock that would take you to DD.

Congress Park. We stayed there with our three kids in Jan. It was a 5-10 minute walk (depending on the kids!) to DTD and less then a 5 minute walk to the pool. It was a great location and we were very happy!

If you are going to spend a lot of time at the main pool, The Springs is where you should stay.

We have stayed at SSR tons of times. It's my dh's favorite resort. We have stayed in the springs the most. If you request the springs, ask for a villa closest to the bus stop. I can't remember the room number but the villa we stayed in was next to the DVC model villa on the second floor which meant no neighbors (so no noise concerns) and it was closest to the stairs. You just walk downstairs and cross the street and you're at the main pool, community center, food court, arcade, etc. Our kids have been staying there since they were 1 and 4 years old and the walk from the springs to dtd has never been a problem. The walkway is nice along the water so the kids always had plenty to look at. If you really think you'd like a shorter walk to dtd, congress park is also nice but will be a little further from the pool. Personally, with the kids I'd rather stay in the springs section b/c it's easier to get to all the activities and run back to the room for lunch, breaks, etc. Have fun!

I've stayed in the Springs only once but it was building 35. This building was located directly behind the bus stop which also put me across from the main pool and Carriage House. Unfortunately I can't remember the room number but overall the location was great!

Yes The Springs is where you want to stay. It is close to the main pool & kiddie area. Also, it is just a short walk down to the trail along the river to walk over to DTD.

I think the Springs is the last bus stop(directly across from the main pool) before leaving the resort. So that's another plus. It's not that much longer to walk to DTD from there. The views from Congress Park are awesome though.
