We spent 5 nights last week at SSR. Our original reservation requested DTD view, non-smoking, first floor. Obviously non smoking was our number one priority. When we checked in around 2pm, our only possibility was the Paddock, non smoking, first floor (or a third floor unit). NO DTD views to be had and there was a few hour wait for a CP quiet pool view.

Since we wanted to get settled we took the Paddock first floor non smoking, water view. We really liked it! I know a lot of people complain about the Paddock being too far removed, but we really liked it. Our two previous stays were in Congress Park. All in all, I think I'd be perfectly happy in either of the three sections as they all have their own location benefits.

We were in the second building on the right and it was very close to the Paddock's quiet pool and kids playset. It was also a hop, skip and a jump to the bridge leading into the Springs. Overall, a nice area!

I'll be curious to find out the benefits of the new section's location benefits.

I'm glad you had such a great time! It really is a treat to read something nice about SSR!

We had Paddock in January and really enjoyed it as well. It was a great location for us and a great view.

Add us to the Paddock Lovers group too! We have stayed in the Congress park area 3 prior times, and each time I failed to get excited about the Downtown Disney views or Saratoga Springs as a whole. Then this last trip, they had us in a Handicapped studio in Congress park and I said " no way!, we are not going to fill up an accessible room when someone else may need one :thumbsup2 ." So they moved us to the Paddock and we loved it! It will be my first request from now on! You all can have that DTD view all to your self!

Thanks for posting!

We check in next Sunday and I have requested CP and was sort of dreading the Paddocks. But so far, the Paddocks has received really good reviews and I think my boys would like going over that bridge!

I know most people request the Springs, but we like having a Quiet Pool at night so that would be our last choice.

The Fairway Villa units will have a theme pool, golf course views and be close to the Carriage House, so that area may be even more desired than Congress Park.

There was a beautiful Swan that hung out near the bridge that was really cool! I really enjoyed Saratoga this trip..

Glad you enjoyed your stay. We are going to be there in a few months and are looking forward to the possability of staying at another section, both our previous visits have been to Congress Park.

We stayed in the Paddocks in February, and I loved walking over that bridge. I guess I am like a little kid, but I thought it was really cool.
Also, the swan was hanging out near the bridge during our stay, so that must be his "home" also!

We just stayed in the Paddocks in the beginning of May. Our room overlooked the playset and quiet pool with the BBQ. It was great because we could go down the side stairs and be right at the playset and pool in no time.

Having the bridge there was nice too, because it only took us a few minutes to walk to the main pool and AP.

We also saw the swan in the lake as well as a few turtles. We could look out our patio to see the buses, and it was a short walk to the busstop. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in that area again.

Do you mean another pool like high rock springs or another quiet pool?

The new pool in that area will be different. It will not be another HRS or QP. It will be a racing theme with sprayjets. I believe it will be staffed also. They will also have a magical moment daily, where a selected child/ren gets to open the pool or race.

It sounds really great and I know it is in the works.

Wow. Sounds pretty cool. Thanks for the answer ;)

We gave DD some pts to use in April, and she stayed at the Paddock. She was not thrilled, due to construction in the building next door. She has allergies, and the dust was bad during the day, so she couldn't leave the room until evening, when the dust had settled. :sad2:

Mel, so glad you had a great time in the Paddock section! We stayed there at Christmas, in the first building off the main street with the Carousel bus stop right in front and loved it! Our view looked out across the little lake and we could see the bridge from side to side...beautiful! I'm heading back in July with my Dsis and her daughter and we're splitting our stay at YC and SSR, but requested a Springs location so Dniece can be close to the big pool, but I think she'd be happy with the quiet pool, too...just so she can swim.

And, Mel, on a side note...how's that little angel of yours? Getting big I'm sure! My baby turned 14 this week...waaaaa! and has 8th grade graduation next week....waaaa! Enjoy her while she's little cause before ya know it they are growing up and almost out of the house...waaaaaa!

It seems those that have stayed in the Paddocks and liked it were in the 2 buildings closest to the quiet pool, playground and bus stop.

Has anyone been in the very last building in the paddocks, as it truly looks like it is not close to anything, except Downtown Disney.
