I just got back last night from a 4 day excursion to SSR. I posted a long trip report on that board)
I went w/ friends for a quick getaway.
Although it took me a little while to understand the layout and my surroundings, I quickly settled in to our newest home. This resort is a very nice addition to the DVC family.
W e stayed in Congress park-facing DDTD. Very nice and the pool here is awesome. The main pool is also great. I love the slide and zero entry.

Artist Pallette-ALL GOOD! I recommend the flatbread pizza and the Saratoga Salad. The breakfast choices were yummy as well. They give alot of food.

The room was missing a cork screw, housekeeping promptly delivered it. There was some confusion w/ baggage delivery. We had luggage as well as grocery items. When I called bell svcs. for delivery of luggage, they only delivered the grocery items. He then quickly returned w/ our luggage.

The Spa facilities including the workout room, are awesome at SSR. I had the pedicure -it was great and the woman was very nice-it was actually a good time. I was w/ my friend so we had some laughs-although sometimes at my expense!(I never get pedicures, so the pedicure person had her work cut out for her w/ my leather feet). The whirpool, sauna, showers in the spa were great to use. A very enjoyable experience. I am not a "Spa " person and this was very comfortable and relaxing to me.

I must say that we used the bus service 2 days to go the parks and it was not a problem-not a very long wait either time-and one day we were told by others waiting, that we just missed our bus to MK.
We liked the ferry svce. to DTD, as well.

Although this is not my favorite resort (OKW & VWL), I really did like it and would definately stay here again. I do also prefer the DVC resorts that are not connected to the hotel/resort. Less crowded. (Although I can never get enough of Wilderness Lodge!)

Glad you had a nice time. The one time we stayed at SSR we were in Congress Park and I think that location was wonderful. I hesitate to book there now, because of all of the other buildings that are built. Do you think you would have had as good a time in another SSR location?

Bobbi :)

PS. Did you have a 1 bedroom or studio? When I had friends with me, I booked 2 studios, but I think it would have been nicer to be together.

Great report!

VWL is our favorite, but we're staying at SSR next. Can't wait!

Bobbi-I think another location would be fine. For us we were 3 adults and wanted to be near the view of DTD. If I went with the kids I think The Paddocks or Springs would have been ok.
If I do go w/ the kids I would do a bike rental like we do at HH. This is a bit spread out, but so is OKW. The walk is fine. I think the design plans are to have the walk to the main areas be simialr from most sections.
We had 1 studio. That was more of a lack of points on my part, after the member cruise I used up next yrs. points. It was actually fine w/ the 3 of us. We lived together in college in a dorm, so we knew e/o well under close quarters.
crsndsny- We always visit VWL, even if we aren't staying there!

Great Report!

We really liked AP too. They do have awesome salads. I had the best Chicken Caesar there.

Nice trip report :thumbsup2
Glad to hear you had a great trip ''home'' :cool1:
