SSR 1st week of March?

So when looking for resorts for our trip Saturday 2/27/16- Sunday 3/6/16 there are no rooms available for SSR at all? This was going to be our back up plan for a 2 bedroom villa if AKV Kidani 2 bedroom was not available. Just curious does anyone know why there are no rooms showing up then? I even played around with dates to not include the second weekend which will be more crowded.

I'll also add we are booking cash, so perhaps they are holding back rooms for DVC? Other DVC resorts are showing availability though.

SSR is and will reamin for a long time wide open for point reservations with DVC for that time of year, one of the lowest DVC demand times of the year, and if you tried going through a broker like David's (a sponsor of this site) you could probably get SSR through an owner for a lot less than Disney charges. I assume you mean cash reservations through Disney. Cash reservations do not necessarily have ryhme or reason. Likely, it is just a temporary blockage. Possibly it is because Disney already has filled the low percentage of rooms it may have avaialble for that time period, which is clearly more popular with cash guests than DVC members.
