Good Morning!

We are new DVC members staying at BCV 3/17-3/23. Based on flight prices we (really just me) decided to add 2 nights and to rent points to stay anywhere 3/23-3/25. We are booked at SSR for these final 2 nights. Since we have never stayed at SSr I have a few questions.

For these last 2 nights it will be 4 of us my hubby and DD7 and DD10. It should be very crowded by those last few days and we will have been there for a week already.

Probably going to try to be low key those last few days. Maybe go to a park for the first few hours but mostly time by the pool and laying low.

We have never requested a room location ever at any hotel but I am thinking that we might want to for this trip. Oh, and we would like to be near the quick service area. Where should be ask to be staying? (oh...and yes I know that this would only be a request).

Also, anything else we should know about SSR?
I know lots of people love it.

Thanks!

I have stayed at SSR 5 times in all locations except Carousel. In my opinion, the walk to Springs (where the counter service, Artists Pallette, and the Springs pool is located) and I don't think the walk is that far. We like Congress Park because of the DTD views and it's about a 7 minute walk from there to the Carriage House at Springs. The paths are wide and well lit and it's a pleasant walk. Congress Park is also close to Paddock which has the new themed pool and a place to fill mugs.

Each section has pros/cons. Grandstand is the first bus stop and a short walk to Springs. It has a kiddie splash/play area which won't be of interest to you.

Springs is the most convenient because the table service, counter service, DTD boat dock, store, etc is right there but it's also the last bus stop and the buses can be quite crowded/standing room only by the time it gets to this stop. Also, this location is the noisiest/busiest.

Carousel is the farthest section from anything.

Congress Park has the shortest walk to DTD but honestly, we've walked from the THV to DTD and I don't think it's that bad.

Congress Park also has a very nice quiet pool which I like for sunbathing/reading.

Paddock used to be our favorite but it now has the new themed pool and isn't as quiet as it used to be. However, it's more convenient for mug refilling.

You have lots of options here.

I would definitely suggest the Paddock section. There feature pool is fun and relaxing. Perfect for your DD' s. Also has some food selections and mug refill. And a short walk across the lake bridge to the Springs section. Also Ithink u get picked up 3 rd for the bus

Springs will be the most convenient if you want to be near the main dining (table and quick service) and pool. There is also an arcade, shop, and boat here.

Our preference has always been Congress Park. On days where we "lay low" we tend to hit the quiet pool and walk over to DTD for some relaxed shopping and dining. Congress Park allows you to have the nice quiet pool close and be 5 minutes walk from DTD.

Thanks for the info and opinions. They are definitely helpful!

I think I need to do some rearch about names and locations...
Am I right that the "fun" pool with slide is located in the Springs section?

What are the other pools like?
Thanks

The main pool is closest to the Springs, but not located there. It is across the street, next to the Carriage House, check in area and restaurants.

The Paddock pool also has a slide.

There is an SSR thread on the DVC forums, which will give you lots of info.
