Hey guys! We are staying at SSR for the first time this next summer. Never stayed there, just toured when we bought DVC. Looks great, but really big!

Can someone give me the lowdown on the resort. I keep hearing CP and GS and I don't know what they mean. We need to request a building to stay at and really don't have a clue.

You guys have been great about giving the positives and the negatives to each section or buildings at other resorts and I was hoping to get the same advice for SSR.

Any other tips and suggestions about the resort would really be helpful.

Thanks!:disrocks:

CP is the Congress Park section. Many of the rooms will have a wonderful view of DTD. We were in this section and had a view of the bus stop...however, there is a great pool in the Congress Park section, and you can enjoy the view while having a wonderful swim. Also, I think that CP has the shortest walk to DTD. We walked the walk, during the night, we saw lights and it was beautiful, in the morning, we saw wildlife and it was tranquil...great walking place!

GS is the newest section, the Grandstand. It has a wonderful themed pool. It is not far from the check in area. I've visited SSR to check out the AKV models, and this section really looks wonderful. There are views of the golf course here as well.

I've only stayed at SSR once, so I'm sure people will tell you more. Have a great time while you plan your great vacation!

We own at SSR and if you want to be near the main pool, restaurants and gift shop as well as the spa, arcade cummunity hall, laundry (there is a seperate building for this, but all 1BR , 2BR and grand villa's have their own machines in the units) then I would suggest asking for the Springs section. It is vey close to a bus stop too.
Really though, I would say there isn't a bad building in the entire resort. All of them are very close to pools, bus stops and all have wonderful views of either fountains, Downtown Disney, lush grounds or gold course views.
You wont be sorry staying at any of the buildings:)

We like SSR. We like staying in Congress Park. It is a short distance to the main pool and to DTD. The kids like the main pool because the soda dispenser for the mugs is right at the pool and they have games and contests around 1:00-2:00 every day. The prizes you can win are BIG prizes...DVC towel, icat, disney dollars, games. Sometimes the kids want to go to the pool instead of the parks.

SSR is a beautiful resort. It is HUGE. We stayed at Congress Park. The walk is about 5 minutes to main building, laundry, and pool. The view of Downtown is awesome. It is only a 5 minute walk (opposite direction of main building) to downtown disney. Grandstand is on the golf course, the Springs is the central location, I think The Paddock is the longest walk. There are 4 bus stops, so walk to any of these is minimal. Have a magical trip!:wizard:

We stayed 10 days in September. We love The Springs, you are right by the bus stop, pool, and close to the Arcade, bike rental, Artist Palette, and lobby. It can't be beat! The bus service is wonderful and direct lines to the parks and DD (no sharing). Have fun! :wizard:
