Ssr 12/1 - 12/5

OK here is the deal. I am renting points from a friend for our stay at WDW Dec 1 - 5. I was hoping to get into OKW (her home is SSR) so she waited for the 7 month window and called today to see if she could get our whole stay at OKW and it was a no go, we want a studio, but she did get us into her home SSR. I am so excited to be going and so grateful to have a friend who could rent us points. I am a little bummed about not staying at OKW because I am waiting for ROFR on a 50pt resale at OKW so I thought it would be cool to check it out. It's also kind of a bummer to have to pay money for this stay time when I will hopefully have my own contract soon, well by the time we get in the system it will probably be another month or two, so I think if we had waited till we got our contract (hopefully) there would have been no chance at getting a room. Do you all agree that I did the right thing and should not have waited? Also, I have spent so much time reading about OKW I know nothing about SSR. Can anyone tell me what it's like at the holidays? How are the rooms? I know we won't have the two queen beds you get at OKW, I belive at SSR you get a bed and pull out couch, am I right? Also, any building recommendations, any better than the rest? We have already purchased our tickets for MVMCP for the 2nd so it would have really been a bummer if we had not gotten a room, although we could have stayed at Pop or an All Star, I'm just so hooked on the DVC that I don't think I would have been as happy.

You might have gotten on the wait list for OKW, but if it isn't available now and others are on the wait list, your chances decrease.

You did the right thing to take SSR.

You definitely did the right thing! Early December is a very popular time for DVC rooms. SSR has a very similar set up to OKW (condo style, relaxing and quiet, etc.) Just different theming. If you still think you might want to stay at OKW, see if your friend would put you on the waitlist for the entire stay. You never know, it might come through.

Good luck on getting the OKW contract You can still check out OKW while staying at SSR. Just get on the DVC boat (it sails from OKW to SSR to DTD and goes back and forth). You could make an ADR for a meal at Olivia's, and take a walk around.

Wow thank you so much for the idea, it probably would not have dawned on me to do that. I will definitely take the boat over to OKW and check it out. I guess it couldn't get anymore convenient than that.

We stayed at SSR over New Years last year and it is wondeful. Go and enjoy the super resort.
