My sister and I are taking our families (4 adults and 3 kids 5, 8, and 12) in August for 8 days. After some changes already, we have 2 standard rooms booked at wilderness lodge. I was just looking and saw that I could change to a 2br villa at Saratoga or Old Key West for $700 more. Worth the change or keep what we have? We have never stayed at any of these resorts.

Are you looking on Disney's site for prices? Try going to dvcreservations.com as they can be much cheaper than booking directly from Disney. Make sure you weigh transportation. If you are spending a lot of time at MK you may want to keep your WL rooms. But be forewarned, once you stay at a DVC resort it'll be tough to go back to a regular room! The w/d is great - we brought extra pods and did laundry daily! We also bought food and ate many breakfasts and lunches in the room (we liked taking a mid day break to hang at the pool). So you'd also save a bit of money on food and drink having the full kitchen!

You'll have much more room and you'll all be together (good thing ??). The addition of the complete kitchen and w/d are a super plus. We are able to pack less clothes and its no issue if someone gets "attacked" by an ice cream cone. Also, as the pp noted we order snacks and breakfast items from Garden Grocer, it make breakfast quicker and less expensive. If you go to SSR, you're just a walk or short boat ride to DS, which opens up all kinds of ADR possibilities.

Another vote for the Villa. OKWare the largest accommodations on property. Plus the 2nd BR HAS 2 Queen beds. We too order breakfast foods, water, beer, wine and snacks from Garden Grocer.
Enjoy

However, most of the buildings at OKW do not have elevators. You'll probably be using the stairs there.

I am. We have a bounce back for free dining. We are leaning towards OKW because of the space it offers. I just don't know where/ what building we might end up in. We can request one right? We won't have a car for the trip since we'll be flying in from NY. I am scared that we won't be able to book non DVC rooms again. LOL!
