I need help with something.

I found a squat challenge for a month that I want to do as part of getting in shape but the problem is I am horrible at doing squats :rolleyes2

Yeah, bad right!

Does anybody have any tips for doing squats? Yes I have goggled it but found nothing I have liked so far. Just ways to make them easier and tips for doing them.

You probably found this in your research, but I can't stress enough how important it is to save your knees. Going up and down vertically like a spring (like you were likely taught in PE) will eventually be hell on your knees, so focus on pushing your butt out and back like you're trying to sit into a chair that's a bit too far away. That way your knees won't be coming forward and you'll have a much lesser chance of injury.

I personally like to push my arms straight out from my chest on each 'downstroke' in a motion similar to throwing a basketball from the rib cage. The straight out motion of my arms reminds me to mimic that motion with my backside and maintain good form. Plus if you add a medicine ball, it's an arm workout at the same time!

My physio got me to sit on the edge of a chair, feet shoulder width apart & pointed only slightly toward the sides. And then s l o w l y rise up.
He then gave me a broomstick (minus the broom part) to hold out straight.
And told me to sit s l o w l y toward the chair, letting my butt naturally move out to meet the seat, but the moment I felt the chair touch my butt & to come slowly up.

He wanted to see how many I could do, slowly and strongly, without actually touching the seat.
Surprisingly to both of us, 60 were no problem! The pole seems to have helped with balance and, along with aiming to stop just before the chair, helped me to focus!
Without these, on my own before, I think 10 killed me!

So, perhaps with a broomstick (I actually use a 4' wooden curtain rod, whatever!) & the chair behind you for a reference point, you might find squats less tedious!
