Hi - Its me - so obviously another bizarre question!!:lmao:

Following on from the success of my weetabix thread :goodvibes , please can someone tell me whether you can buy orange squash in the US??!!

DS is fussy about the taste of certain drinking water and so far I've avoided fizzy drinks, so usually squash is the answer!! But as a non-squash drinker myself, I've never had cause to look for it in America before!! - Anyone come across it??:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Hi,

As we take our own bisto gravy I think you are safe to ask as many questions as you like. :)

Publix sell Robinson's Orange cordial, they have an ethnic aisle with Heinz Beans, Marmite, Cadbury Chocolate, PG Tips and lots more -usually they sell cordial too.

I know we have bought Apple and Blackcurrant for Joshua in the past.

Cordial is not something they do that much over there, tends to be mainly fizzy drinks, Gatorade is a watered down soft drink and you can get Orange but to be honest I don't like it.

The Brit's grocery store at Old Town also sell nothing but UK groceries, like the Publix prices though they are double or so what you would pay back home.

They do sell Robinsons as Johnny said. We tend to take our own as the orange is over $2 for a small bottle. We really stuggle with drinks as the kids tend not to get fizzy and they get bored of water.

They do sell Carpri Sun pouches over there as well :goodvibes

I found robinsons Blackcurrant & apple and orange squash at a couple of supermarkets, ( i think it was the marketplace at formosa gardens and Kings supermarket on the 192) but ds loves freshley squeezed orange juice so i mix this half and half with water as i do at home.

is it really worth taking your own, risking it leaking in your bag to save spending $2 (£1).

In October the Robinsons was $8 a bottle in the supermarkets we saw stocking it, so I'd say that it was worth the convienience of having some when you get there, and the 2 bottles that I took didn't leak.

we take our own Tea bags - US tea is weak and horrid - and used to take our own squash when the kids were small (we like the High Juice ones and have never found anything like it over there).

We buy evian bottled water cos it seems to taste most like ours - I know it is a bit more expensive but the others are not nice and i end up not drinking enough fluid!

we payed $7 for robinsons in walmart thing is the kids dont really like robinsons its a bit too strong for them so i now take my own.

Stupid question from a Canuck - what is the difference between orange squash and orange juice? The latter is easy to find in Florida!

thanks everyone for their advice:goodvibes :goodvibes

I hadn't actually thought of diluting actual juice - and I used to do that when he was smaller, so I guess that would still work - otherwise I will pop to Publix (I know its the expensive option, but with so much else to carry for the baby - it will be one less thing to worry about!!);)

Thank you all - a help again as always!!:lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc
