Squakers Mccaw?

In the last few days DS has decided that he really, really wants this talking bird, Squakers Mccaw. It is "on sale" right now for $50 down from $70. I was already done with Christmas shopping for him but I thought I would at least get some more info on it just in case I decide to buy him something else.

Is this thing worth the money? I am afraid it would be another one of those $$$ toys that are really fun for about an hour then the novelty wears off. Anyone have any experience with it?

I love mine

its really neat,,, and it stands on its perch so it looks cool even when not playing with him.

I actually bought mine to keep my cockatoo company while we went to wdw,,,

I say get him he is cool

but haven't used him yet. One small wrapping tip - that sucker won't shut up! Don't know what I'm going to do when I have to put him under the tree so the kids don't notice!
