Hello!
Has anyone ever taken a spur of the moment trip to WDW? For example, deciding that you want to go tomorrow and planning everything (resort, airfare) today at the last minute? If you have, how have you pulled it off financially and work-wise?

I am seriously contemplating this idea :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hi... I once decided on Wednesday (out of the blue) to go on a Disney Cruise Sunday. (I saw a commercial LOL)

I just called Disney Cruise lines, they did everything, I booked 3 nights at WDW for after the cruise and took their AIR - which was horrible times/connections.. paid on VISA, they Fedex-ed me my tickets... had to race to get our passports in 48 hours.. everything was a big panic - but it was a great trip

I did that once about 7 years ago. It was about 2 weeks before Christmas. I decided I wanted to spend Christmas with my kids at CBR. I did an online reservation, received a fax stating that my reservation went through.

To this day I don't know how it all came together but it was one of our most magical trips. I got 7 days in a waterview room at CBR, good deals on tickets, etc. I guess it was meant to be.

Enjoy your trip. :)

I have done it several times. However, it is easier for me since I am single. I also have frequent flyer miles to use.

I've never done it that last minute, but I did book a trip in June for travel in September. It started out as a 3 night trip that turned into 5 nights.

We had originally booked at POR, and we first added one more night at POR. Then another night at the BWI. But then, the Courtyard had their $25/night deal going on, so we saved lots of money.

That was a really fun trip! :)

I totally do not like last-minute trips. Even though I have been to WDW 16 times, I feel I always need 9 to 12 months to plan everything. Then came the FTP...

Made reservations a week ago for August at WL. That's as last-minute as I see myself going. :earsboy:

While we usually plan our big trips to WDW a year in advance, I have taken several "last minute" trips which have turned out to be wonderful. Call CRO and see what kind of special deals they have to offer. Get on the internet and find some cheap airfare. You will have no great expectations since it is last minute and you will have a ball. Be really flexible - willing to try a new resort to get the best deal. There are some great last minute websites out there. Check Mousesavers to see what kind of deals they have listed. Twice I took last minute trips by myself - just on a lark. Every once in a while you just need a Disney fix and nothing else will do.
