Thursday, July 7
Today we are going to the Perfectly Princess Tea Party. One of our friends has made dresses for Grumpy and Imp. We have lugged these dresses around for a week and now it's finally time to put them on. Grumpy has a blue Cinderella dress and Imp has a yellow Belle dress. We carry them with us to the Grand Floridian and I put them on the girls in the bathroom. They look so beautiful, and actually enjoyed the whole thing, even Grumpy.

I think the tea party people were annoyed with me, because I took at least 100 pictures. Pictures of the cake, the dolls, the food, the girls, the princess, you name it, I have a picture of it.

When Aurora (we didn't even bother bringing the autograph books with us) came around and asked the girls who their favorite princess was, Grumpy said, “I don’t have a favorite. “……“Oh, you like all the princesses?” ……… “No, I don’t like any of them.” Alrighty then.

The funniest part was when someone else came around asking if we had a song to request. The girls couldn’t come up with one, so Moose picks, “Everybody Wants to be a Cat” Very funny. The keyboard player, Baron Branch, actually had to pull out his book and look it up. I guess that song isn’t picked very often.

Back to our resort, Moose took Grumpy to see the power Rangers and this time they were successful. I took Imp shopping in the Beach Club Marketplace.

There was a little bit of a problem with the refillable mugs. Fauna really wanted one. She had been down to the store every day, but they were sold out. Two days earlier she went down and they told her they received the wrong shipment, Fantasmic mugs, so they sent them back and were still waiting on the correct mugs. I went down to see if the new shipment was in.

On the shelf are rows and rows of Fantasmic mugs. I ask at the counter and am told, "These are our new mugs." You've got to be kidding me. "Nope, those are really the new mugs." What about the Beach Club mugs in the display case? "We can't sell anything that is on display.

I bite the bullet and buy the Fantasmic mug. It's not tell later that I realize it is a light up mug. Not only does it not say "Beach Club" on it - it can't be washed in the dishwasher or submerged in water when washing it by hand. Lovely.

Back to the Magic Kingdom for dinner at Crystal Palace. Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet seemed very tame in comparison to all the other great character meals we had this week, but we still enjoyed it.

We split up for the evening for rides and met back up in Fantasyland during the fireworks. One last spin on Dumbo and back home to the Beach Club.

Another magical day. We have to go home tomorrow and I am dreading it.

Grumpy has many wonderful qualities which will be great in an adult, but are difficult to deal with in an 8 year old. :rotfl2: She know what she wants/likes and isn't afraid to speak her mind.

(Thanks for all of the encouraging comments. It's nice to know someone else can enjoy our magical trip, too. :goodvibes )

Great report. Look is Grumpy ever has trouble meeting her perfect match as an adult, let me know. I have a Grouchy 9 yo who would be perfect for her. :rotfl2:

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

You have very beautiful daughters! Very pretty eyes! Thank you for sharing!

Do you mind a personal ??? HOw much was the tea party? Was this the one with Alice in Wonderland or the one for mothers / daughters? I looked into it but it seemed so pricey- was it worth it? The pics sure seem so!

We went to the Perfectly Princess Tea Party at the Grand Floridian. It is geared towards mom/daughter pairs. The price for a pair is $200. We wanted to take both girls and Dad really wanted to be a part of it, so we splurged and paid $400 for all of us to go. ($200 for mom/daughter, $135 for an additional child, $65 for an additional adult)

This was much different than any of the other "meals/events" we have gone to. There are only about 12 tables in the tea room. The girls are all announced and then walked to their seats. Rose Petal tells a story and sings songs, walking around and connecting with all the girls. Along with the tea (the children have apple juice in their teapots) and the sandwiches, they also get a My Disney Girl doll dressed as Sleeping Beauty.

When the girls are announced, before they are taken to their table, each girl gets a "tiara". When they are instructed to take their napkins and unfold them, a bracelet falls out. After the story/singing, Aurora comes out and teaches the girls a song, they all gather and practice their princess curtsey and then take a princess walk around the room, including the princess wave and swoosh of the skirt.

After all of that excitement the cake is served, with much fanfare. Then Rose Petal, Baron Branch, and Aurora each stop by and chat with the girls and sign their books (or placecards, in our case)

At the end, Aurora makes one final round to the tables and gives each girl a pink rose.

If you can swing it - go. One of the best things we have ever done. I wanted to do it this year because I knew it would be the last year I could force Grumpy into a princess dress. We will probably consider doing it again for Imp, maybe when she is six.

Mother/daughter or father/daughter. I also saw one little boy there. They made a big deal out of him being a prince, he got a crown instead of a tiara and a teddy bear instead of a doll.

OMG I think I saw you snapping away at the GF. Your flash caught my eye and then I saw your cute dds in those beautiful dresses. Had I known I would have said hello. It sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Sorry I didn't stop to say hi. We were at the GF july2-10 I have not gotten it together to write my trip report yet. Wait rephrase that I have not gotten any child free time to write my report.

I'm sorry. I am definitely annoying with the constant pictures.

I know what you mean about child free time, I stayed up several nights until 1:00 in the morning working on this report. *yawn* Had to work on it while they were sleeping. :teeth:
