Springhill Suites vs Residence Inn

Hi all, I have a question about these two hotels...

If anyone has been to either recently can you help.

We are a party of 6, 2 adults and 4 teens.

I originally had 5 nights for Springhill Suites. I got a great rate at 69/nt however it has double beds/sleep sofa and one bath. The reviews are so so on tripadvisor. This hotel also has a $5 per day fee.

Residence Inn has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. I got a rate there for 112/nt with a stay 5 discount. The reviews on tripadvisor are horrible with one showing a picture of a roach. There are no resort fees here.

I am so confused. I want to stay at a Marriott (budget) because we belong to their rewards program so I want to earn points.

After our Marriott stay we will be moving to POR for a few days but because we need two rooms there our stay prior has to be budget!

Also, which resort is better traffic wise? I know where Springhill Suites is located and it is a traffic nightmare at times. I am not familiar with the location of Residence Inn and traffic. Oh and we are arriving on Sunday Aug. 11.

Always go for more space! Sharing a double bed is brutal. Plus with 6 people getting ready with only 1 bath is tough. And I absolutely would not stay by the outlets.

That said- we have stayed at both the SHS and RI right off of I-4 by Sea World, an exit or 2 down from outlets and the road is much easier to access. Don't forget with RI you also get a full kitchen. And they have a bigger breakfast area and selection.

I don't know if you have looked into condos. Lots of last minute deals, around $100 a night, for a 3 bedroom,2 bath in Windsor Hills which is really close to WDW and very popular. I gave stayed there in a 5 bedroom and a 3 bedroom condo. Condos come with a splash pool plus the huge resort pool. Downfall, breakfast is not included.

This is the Marriott Village Springhill suites, right? I have stayed at the MV Fairfield Inn and Courtyard.
I cannot imagine have 6 people in 1 of these hotel rooms at the MV. This place is just ok. It is fine, but is in need of some refurbishment.

Which Residence Inn?

I really would recomment renting a condo with 6 people just to have some separate bedrooms and more than one bathroom. I can't imagine having 4 teens and 2 adults share 1 bathroom.

Get on vrbo.com and homeaway.com now and look for some last minute deals.

Even better, I just looked on the TUG last minute forum and here is something that looks like it will fit you at Bonnet Creek:

Believe me, Bonnet Creek will seem like luxury compared to the Marriott Village.

Thank you so much! I just sent an email to see if Bonnet Creek is still available. Keeping fingers crossed!

Try Ken at vacationupgrades.com. He might be able to get you Bonnet Creek.

I've never stayed in a Residence Inn in that area, but generally, they're very nice. The 2 bedrooms we've stayed in have always had a queen in each bedroom plus the pull-out in the living room, so there's lots of room to spread out. Plus you have a full kitchen and a nice breakfast. They usually have free dinner Monday through Thursday, but I don't know if that's the case in tourist areas.

That said, I would check VRBO and see if you can get a condo at Windsor Hills or Windsor Palms. It will give you even more space, and a lot of owners will have good discounts for last minute bookings.
