Can anyone that has stayed at Springhill Suites on Ball Road help me with transportation ???'s
I have been reading reviews that say that the Mickey and Friends Lot is near the hotel and you can take the Disney tram for free to the parks. How far is the walk to the tram and how long does it take to get from your room to the front gate on average this way? I was also wondering how far the monorail stop in Downtown Disney is from the hotel. Is it possible to walk to the monorail and take that closer to the gates? I am not even sure if any of these options would save time. It looks like about a mile from the hotel to the park entrances so it may even be quicker and easier just to walk. Thanks for any advice in advance!

I google mapped it, and it is a 5 minute walk. If you have young kids or anything, it may take a few minutes longer, but it seems doable. We would talk to the Toy Story lot from our hotel and from there, it would usually be a 10-15 wait/ride to the gate. We loved it!

My family stayed there last year. We've stayed at several hotels in the area. We walked to the Mickey and Friends Lot and to the monorail. I can't remember the exact minutes of the walk, but use google maps or this wikimapia link. Also, the monorail in DTD will scan your ticket and drop you off in Tomorrowland, not the front gate. You are right, it doesn't save too much time by taking the shuttle, but it does save your feet a little. That being said, I would prefer not to do it this way again, it was just too long of a lonely, dull walk up Walnut (edit). And it really hurt at the end of the day.

...and to add to my previous post, this is what it is like. At the end of the day you have to walk out of DL, get into DTD, wait for the Mickey and Friends Shuttle, take it to the lot, then once you leave the shuttle you have to walk the same distance from Toontown to Soarin over California to get to the hotel.
