Thank you so much! We'll be in Orlando for 10 days, so I am trying to eliminate as much as possible from our packing list!
OH, on a semi related note...I was planning on hand washing some tank tops and shorts in the sink at the hotel, but then I recalled that they don't have bathtubs in the rooms, which leaves me without a place to hang the clothes to dry. Do you happen to know if there is a retractable clothing line in the shower, or perhaps anywhere else in the bathroom I could hang a few small clothing items to dry?
I'm looking forward to seeing what you thought of SpringHill. We are tossed up between Springhill & Residence Inn. I have a reservation at both currently. I like how modern Springhill looks and it appears to be within walking distance of both Aquatica & SW. But I like how we have the option of a private bedroom at Residence. Soooo tossed up!
Yeah, it was the same price for either, but I was wowed by the modern decor in the rooms at Springhill. I'll let you know how it is once we check in!

What Universal hotel are you staying at?
Royal Pacific, because it was about $100 cheaper per night with the AP discount!
We considered buying 1-AP to get a discount on the hotel. How much of a % off did it save?
we are going to probably just but the Orando Flex pass...
It was right at $300 for the AP, so about $120 more than what I would have paid otherwise. This brought the hotel rate down from $210 per night with the stay more/save more promotion to $154 per night. We're staying 3 nights. We've already come out ahead, and that doesn't even account for the 10% savings on food and merchandise, and free parking if we decide to stop by later in the trip for a re-ride of our favorites. I think I made a good decision. I crunched the numbers incessantly, lol, and this was what made sense. There's NO way I'll make it back again within the year, but it was still the right way to go.
(Doing the package deal through Sea World for leg two made this make even MORE sense for us, since it was dirt cheap and gives us length of stay Sea World and Aquatica passes - $540 for 5 nights, WITH two days of free dining!)
That's just the AP rate versus the Stay More rate - they're not stacked. FYI, the AP discounts at HRH and Portofino were MUCH lower, and the weekend Royal Pacific AP rates were much higher.
I booked the Sea World package through their site. I don't know the end date on that promotion, but I imagine it's late fall, before Thanksgiving. There was one for kids get in free, one for 2 days of free dining, and 1 with the flex pass you mentioned in case you go that route. Also, there was a thing on their site saying that if you book the hotel through them, you get the fifth night free. Pretty amazing deal.
fyi, there are bathtubs in the springhill suites, or have been in both rooms we have had so far. They are shower/tub combos and a large sink in one "bathroom" and a seperate room with toilet and small sink area.
I'm wondering if there is a way to check out or otherwise procure towels poolside at the Springhill Suites, or if we will have to use towels from our room.
