Just a tip, many of you may already do this, but just in case:
DD(13), although in a size 12-14 girls has grown so tall in the last few months. She is officially 3/4 inch taller than me.
Anyway the school has a dress code and we are finding it hard to locate inexpensive, yet stylish capri and bermuda shorts.
Our solution:
We gathered the jeans/khakis/sweats that are now too short on her. We decided to cut the legs off to make new bottoms. She made herself some capris w/folded cuffs(hand sewn the cuffs to stay), a few pair of bermudas and even a skirt. Some she used bleach and embelishments on.
Once school is over she can take a few and cut them even shorter for the summer.
For younger DD we found some great jeans/pants on clearance (like $3) and made her some bermuda shorts as well. At Goodwill we found some soffe shorts w/tags and Aeropostle jeans for $2/pair.
I am so thankful for this idea and moneysaver.
